About this listen

In Morgan Jones’ heart-stopping thriller, The Good Sister, a desperate father sets out on a deadly journey to rescue a daughter who doesn't want to be saved.

Early one morning, Seventeen-year-old Sofia Mounir, disenfranchised from her life in London, boards a flight to Turkey.

By the time the police know she’s missing, Sofia is already in Syria, ready to fight for the only cause she still believes in.

Her devastated father knows he must go to the end of the earth to find her and bring her back. But how do you save your child when she doesn’t know she needs saving?

This was an Audible freebie and I'm glad to have heard it. If it is a first book, it's a very good start. It's the story of a father who sets out to rescue his estranged daughter from the clutches of Isis and if it's anything close to the truth about Jihadi brides, it's chilling. It opened my eyes to the online grooming of young girls, the violence they're exposed to, and the kind of brutal young men who use religion as an excuse to indulge their homicidal practices. The storytelling is tight, it moves right along and pulls no punches. Maybe the parents of daughters could learn a lot from this book....

Chilling stuff

Too often an audiobook is either a good book or a good performance. The Good Sister is a great story, but an equally great performance by Avita Jay and that is the highest praise I can give if. Well done...really, really enjoyable.

Highest praise for book and performance

totally gripping from the start to the end and gives what I assume to be an accurate depiction of life within Islamic state. a must read!!!

BRILLIANT

Was really pleasantly surprised by the reader after being bored to tears by some, but this reader felt perfectly matched.
The story felt authentic and gave me a real sense of hope for the characters and I looked forward to getting that time alone to listen. Super happy I found it.

Exciting, horrifying, hopeful, empathic...

Very good story and characters. Story changed a little towards the middle and just gets a tad far fetched. Saying this, I did enjoy it a lot, even if I was a little put off initially because of the current news subject on this topic. Very well read, and loved all the different accents.

A good book for the time
