I cried through most of it

My mum had my sister and me on diets since I was 12 years old. With no cookies, cake. chocolate or bread in the house it was no wonder I started to binge on these as soon as I left home. As a single mum looking for love she was desperate to present her package with 2 perfect daughters so we went off to elocution lessons was dragged sailing and horse riding and kept on the latest fad diets. After reading this book I now feel empowered to forgive her and get on with my life. After listening to this book I feel liberated and more confident to take responsibility for my own body. After 40 years of slimming clubs and diets I am finally in control ... not them. I am taking a vow now to put myself at the centre and respond to how my body feels. Only I can do that. The book has given me a new energy, a new purpose and new mantras. I recommend it to any ladies trying to break free.

A must read

This book is so fab, I couldn't recommend it enough. Mel talks such sense and it's really refreshing listen. Anyone who had struggled with diets & hating themselves/body you must listen!

Awful. Don’t waste your money.

I bought these book and audio based on reviews. Personally, no answers to questions I had about eating healthily in western environment. Very odd. Author babbling about goddesses and she and the ‘goddesses’ referred to how her expensive retreats solved their issues. Bit of a shame the actual book and audio book did not shed any light on this. Uuummmmm, I didn’t get anything from this apart from very annoying and if I want some insight, I need to pay to go on a very inclusive retreat or online course for money. Not impressed. Please don’t waste your money. Buy Dr Chatterjee’s book instead.

Amazing

What a refreshing approach. Mel is absolutely right and hating yourself thin will never work. Treat yourself better and your whole life will change. This isn’t an overnight trip and could take a while, but I’ve been implementing her instructions for a month or so now and things are definitely changing. I never want to hate myself, or starve or punish myself ever again.

Incredible!

I listened so intently to every word Mel spoke in this audiobook, I felt as if she was talking directly to me and had me crying about how badly I’ve been treating myself. Time for a change!

Disappointing for me but might be helpful for others

Unfortunately, the book wasn’t revolutionary for me. All the author mentions is not new to me, a lot of common sense, some good reminders and some unacceptable for me like eating whatever you want (being a vegan and feeling it’s not ethical and not kind to ourselves ). So feel like I wasted my time with the book but perhaps it will be helpful for those women who are not seeing their beauty and chasing the ideal image they see in magazines and try diet after diet and workout after workout and still fail and feel unhappy. Unfortunately It didn’t change my not so healthy relationship with food for me.

Nothing New.... AND totally Necessary!

While the author is not sharing anything new... ie “love your body” is her theme for the Goddess Revolution- I really enjoyed listening to this book. Her voice and accent are pleasant to listen to and I really felt her heart come through in this audible.

Life changing!!

I honestly had no idea this book would change my life and my mindset. I thought I was just going to get some good tips for self-love and move on to my next personal development book.

Everything she said I could relate to. It helped me take a good look at myself and become aware of, and make changes that were necessary. I have struggled with weight and body imagine my whole entire life and I am forever changed after reading this book.

Must-read!

Must read for anyone struggling with their relationship with food, their body and self image. What a goddess Mel is!! This book really helped me come to peace with my body and with how I related with food and my eating patterns. Very healing!

You need this!

Opening me to more of my truth

I loved this book. It helped me to see some significant patterns that I was not aware of in my self-love and eating routine. I felt myself welling up with tears knowing that her words were my truth to. I'm grateful for having read this book to help me see that even my relationship with food was reflecting my level of self worth and self love. Time to do some deep in her work now to heel and find more love for myself!

Empowering and inspiring

A beautifully written and easily digestible book about the power of self love. Mel gives great tips on how to look beyond the scale, let go of diets, and shut up the “skinny b” within to unleash your full potential. A must read/listen for all women.

if you struggle with emotional eating ..this is your book. This book is absolutely outstanding
