About this listen

When Libby Nicholls arrives in London, broken-hearted and with her life in tatters, the first person she meets on the bus is elderly pensioner Frank. He tells her about the time in 1962 he met a girl on the number 88 bus with beautiful red hair just like her own. They made plans for a date, but Frank lost the ticket with her number written on it. For the past sixty years, he's ridden the same bus trying to find her.

Libby is inspired by the story and, with the help of an unlikely companion, she makes it her mission to continue Frank's search. As she begins to open her guarded heart to strangers and new connections, Libby's tightly controlled world expands. But with Frank's dementia progressing quickly, their chance of finding the girl on the 88 bus is slipping away....

More than anything, Libby wants Frank to see his lost love one more time. But their quest also shows Libby just how important it is to embrace her own chance for happiness—before it's too late.

Overall a good story with a few twists that I didn’t see coming. I felt the last chapter was rushed it almost ended abruptly.

The ending felt rushed.

This is the first time I have read Freya Sampson and I really loved the story and the narration by both actors. I felt the story had a great heart to it, even though at times it felt saddening. At times just when I thought I had the story sown up, there was another twist. So impressed I am off to down load her other audio book.

The last few books I’ve read or listened to have been disappointing. So a thoroughly enjoyable read like this has come at the right time. I hardly realised I was listening to it, as is was perfectly passed and engaging the whole way through. Recommend it everyday and twice on Sunday !

Nothing bad to say about this lovely heartwarming tale!

I listened to this on Audible. Tte narration was good and brought the characters to life. I enjoyed listening to this story. It was real life, something that could've and might've happened to lots of people. Listening to the story, I got lost in the happenings and lives of the characters themselves. My initial dislike of Dylan soon dissolved after I got to know him but I still didn't like a romantic character written with a mohican haircut. Does that make me prejudiced or just biased? It's just that I didn't think that kind of character would suit Libby's character, but then I realised she wasn't my character, she was the Author's and she knew her better than me. Overall the story was enjoyable and pleasant to listen to and I'd definitely recommend this book.

Pleasant Enjoyable Story
