The Girl Next Door might be my 2nd favorite Georgia Beers romance. It's just behind Aubrey McFadden Is Never Getting Married.

The Girl Next Door is cozy from dislike to friends to lovers romance. The main characters are regular people in their late 30s. I love that Georgia Beers mostly writes abour regular people with regular jobs, houses and problems but her books still offer the perfect place to escape to for a couple of hours.

I originally got an eARC of the book via NetGalley prior to the release but didn't have time to read it. I ended up buying the audiobook after release.

As the author comments throughout this book, romances are formulaic and ‘the girl next door’ is an old trope. Beers is quite right in her reasoning for why people read romance and I’m happy to say this book provides the ingredients perfectly. I’m now smiling (after a very difficult few weeks) and so I’m grateful for this book. 😊
