Summary

When Englishwoman Frances McDonald sets up home in a remote South African hamlet, she is regarded with suspicion by the community. The Fire Portrait

A wonderfully crafted story. The author writes with a depth of emotion and a level of understanding about the human condition. The narrator does a superb job and could stop listening. The story has stayed with me long after completion of the narrative.
