Summary

Some things shouldn't be seen....

Cherokee Pointe, Tennessee. Deep in the Smoky Mountains, the victim lies, sacrificed on a makeshift altar - the gruesome work of a killer who has evaded the authorities in state after state. FBI agent Dallas Sloan knows the scene all too well - just as he knows the killings won't stop until there are four more bodies.

Some warnings won't be heeded....

Genny Madoc's "sixth sense" has brought many of Cherokee Pointe's residents to her isolated log cabin, looking for help. But now it's Genny who needs help from the disturbing visions she sees - images that are getting stronger and more violent day by day.

Some fears can't be stopped....

Thrown together by necessity, drawn to each other by desire, Dallas and Genny must band together, searching the darkest heart of a town's hidden secrets before a twisted killer can complete a sinister plan that will make one of them the fifth victim.

Slightly confusing in places

Not my regular kind of book but I do love a series, so I thought I would go for it. I enjoyed some of the characters, although as I’m normally doing something else while listening the fact that three of the main characters have names beginning with J I occasionally had to go back and check who was in the current scene. I also found that several times when the killer was in a scene I confused them with someone else as they are mostly referred to as ‘him/he. For an entire chapter I thought Jacob and him/he were the same person. All that said it was a nice easy listen in between my credits.

Bla

To much over the top romance... Poor ending to catching the killer... Had the potential to be a good book.

Great storyline

Excellent storyline. Just the right amount of mystery, action, thrills & romance (although it does verge on 'soft porn'). The main characters are well-rounded and likeable. Overall, a great read & very well narrated.

Promising story, clouded by outdated beliefs

I struggled to get through this book. The story was promising and attracted me in the first place. I just feel like it could have done better without all those sex scenes as well as the outdated and underlying misogynistic beliefs that I feel is just a result of the cultural and social ignorance of the author.

Old-fashioned attitudes, sexual assault, but the ‘thriller’ parts were good

A lot of old-fashioned attitudes and misogyny even on the part of the ‘good guys’, terrible clichéd writing about sex and some bad grammar - but the exciting parts of this were good.

Unbelievable story line but I enjoyed it!

It’s a bit raunchy in places so I found myself turning the volume down in case it was overheard, so as not to offend anyone. However, I did enjoy the story which follows a serial murderer’s capture using a little detective work and a lot of ESP.
Nice and easy to follow when you’re doing several things at once, as I tend to do.

Really Enjoyed

Good story, great characters could see the town and almost became part of it. For a gruesome crime it still managed to make it feel almost too good.
