so many opportunities to empower women but this book stores at solidarity. the microaggressions the protagonist is forced to tolerate, including her boss sabotaging the show, resulting in her competing with a female colleague for a part time version of her old job whilst her male love interest keeps this job was INFURIATING to hear. the misogynist boss ultimately remains horrifyingly unimpacted by decades of sexual harassment and microaggressions towards female staff. in the backdrop of everyday sexism and #MeToo this made the book a disappointment. Would not recommend.

A unique and enjoyable rom com :)

the narration was good but it did annoy me that the tone of the MC sounded constantly anxious - I had to speed it up to 1.5 to put some pep in her step.

I only mention this because it really effected the way I saw the story - I did not like audio Shay that much and when reading the book I got a completely different impression. Also it was only with her character, because while Shay came off slightly annoying in the audio version, the male voices were done really well.
