About this listen
An intensely dark, gripping thriller from the bestselling author of My Little Brother
Sometimes your past just won't let go...
As a heatwave grips the country, DS Jenna Morgan is called to a domestic incident at the home of a young family in Ironbridge.
Pregnant Imelda Cheetham-Epstein has been found unconscious by her husband, Zak, with serious head injuries.
When Jenna arrives on the scene, she discovers something even more disturbing – the couple's eleven-month-old son, Joshua, is missing and the race against time begins to find him.
Is this an accident or something more sinister?
Are the two incidents linked?
Or has something in the Cheetham-Epsteins' past caught up with them?
The fourth thrilling instalment in the DS Jenna Morgan series, perfect for fans of Cara Hunter.

Good story

Despite knowing the reveal and probable ending, I found this story still grabbed me, kept me thrilled and wanting more. No mean feat! I can only imagine how much more of a thriller this would have been had I been more in the dark!
One actual criticism would be that, after 4 books, the authors repetitive use of 'of it' begins to grate a little. For example:- "she revelled in the smell of it" or "she warmed to the heat of it" and "she thrilled at the taste of it".
However this is nitpicking given I'm now a big fan of DS Jenna Morgan and hope the series continues.
Narration was spot on as usual. It's like the narrator IS Jenna Morgan rather than just reading her.
Overall, I would listen to all four books again. Very enjoyable, very well written.
Great story, bit predictable but still good
