Summary

The final installment in Richelle Mead's sweeping, enthralling Glittering Court series answers the trilogy's biggest question: What is the secret that drives Tamsin to win at all costs?

Tamsin Wright is unstoppable. She must become the Glittering Court's diamond: the girl with the highest test scores, the most glamorous wardrobe, and the greatest opportunities to match with an elite suitor in the New World. Training alongside other girls in the Glittering Court, Tamsin immerses herself completely in lessons about etiquette, history, and music - everything a high-society wife would need to know. Once she's married, she'll be able to afford a better life for her family, so the sacrifice is worth it if she can be the best.

When her friendship with Mira and Adelaide, her roommates at the Glittering Court, threatens her status as the top-ranked prospect, she does the only thing she knows will keep her on track: She cuts them out of her life. But when her voyage across the sea goes off course, Tamsin must use her unrelenting grit and determination to survive the harsh winter far north of her intended destination in hopes of making it back to the Glittering Court in time to secure a proposal - and a comfortable future for her family.

Experiencing new cultures and beliefs for the first time, Tamsin realizes that her careful studies haven't prepared her for everything, and with new alliances formed with roguish tradesman Jago Robinson and good-natured minister Gideon Stewart, Tamsin's heart begins to be pulled in different directions. But she can't let her brewing attraction get in the way of her ultimate goal: protecting the secret she holds closest to her heart, the one that would unravel everything she's worked for if it's uncovered.

Tamsin is the best

I honestly couldn't sympathise to Adelaide or like her that much to be honest. But Tamsin is so lovable! And I love Jego!

Amazing end to the series

I loved this - it’s the third book in he glittering court series, I was so excited to hear Tamsin’s story and it was just as good as I’d hoped! We really get to know her character well and follow all the things that happened to her (and her journey is so eventful!). I would recommend this if you like historical / ya fiction and romance, and there’s also lots of interesting twists in it too. The romance was great. Narrated so well. Just amazing 💜

Enthralling

I was weary of this book, but decided to listen to it mainly because I’m such a fan of Elizabeth Knowelden’s narration. I was *blown away*.
This is the kind of book that uses every detail laid down—whether in slow parts or fast parts of the narrative— to good use.

The character development and the sheer awe that the main character inspires through her strength makes this a story that truly impacted me and made me think about my own life decisions. Gorgeous narration and engrossing story. You can’t go wrong here.

Excellent reader, excellent story

This is my favorite book of the series. I didn’t think it could top Midnight Jewel, which I loved, but it surpassed it! I adored Tamsin’s story. I will re-read it many times in the future, I am sure! The reader is excellent and I loved hearing all of the voices brought to life in such an imaginative way! 5 stars for sure.

Exceptional character and story

While I read all of the books from The Glittering Court and loved them, I have to say that The Emerald Sea was my favorite book. I love Adelaide, Mira but my favorite is Tamsin Wright. And yes, I love the other two books but I feel that with Tamsin, this book touched me the most. She was an exceptional person, driven, smart, strategic and she had a huge heart. Throughout the book, she suffered so much, and still am happy she got what she wanted and more. I think the story ended a bit abruptly and I wish that there was an epilogue at the end focusing on how she and the other 2 girls settled. I would recommend all 3 books.

The best of the three books

If you have to get through the first two
It’s worth it to get to the emerald sea. I would say it’s the best of the trilogy. There is so much more action. The narrators voice was annoying in the beginning but I got used to it and it’s worth it for the story. Definitely recommend!

Great Trilogy

This trilogy kept my interest from beginning to end. I like how each book focused on each girl's story within the same time frame. I also like how a different narrator was provided for each book which also helped to give each story its own voice.

Perfect gem!!!

I am a huge fan of the Vampire Academy series, but Glittering Court replaced it as my Richelle's Mead favorite! All three books were perfect! I am so happy I discovered this gem. The only thing is that I read the three books in probably a week, because I couldn't stop myself.

The characters were very well written, not the typical cookie-cutter one-dimensional ones that we often see in YA books. The books had such a wide-span adventure, history, nature, unpredictable twists, and turns, great dialogs, struggles, humor and wins. The main heroines were strong, relatable, and human. Each had her own strength and character development. Same with the male interests - each so different from each other, not typically cookie-cutter tall-dark-and-handsome (with the instant sizzling attraction) and a perfect fit for the main heroine! Plus the wide array of interesting supporting characters with each deserving their own story told!

Not my normal read but enjoyed.

I don't usually do romance story lines but really enjoyed this series. Loved having the same story told from three points if view. Would love if we could get a short novel letting us know how the next year of their lives played out and if the glidering court still went on or if other adventures where a result of the mess of events that happened here.
