Summary

Camden Seaver had it easy - a loving family, plenty of money, and the freedom to follow his dreams while his older brother, Sebastian, took charge of the family business. But when a tragic plane crash killed his parents, all the responsibilities he never wanted landed firmly on his shoulders. Now saddled with his crazy, grief-stricken brother and his dad’s multimillion dollar company, Cam doesn’t trust in dreams anymore. He’s forgotten what “easy” feels like.

FBI Agent Kendrick “Cort” Cortland learned the hard way that he couldn’t depend on anyone but himself. Before joining the FBI, the one constant in his life was his foster brother, Damon - and then Damon disappeared. Now, Cort is determined to find his brother and to bring down the man responsible for ruining Damon’s life, Sebastian Seaver. He’s got nothing left to lose.

When Cort’s investigation leads him to Seaver Tech...and Camden Seaver...what started as a quest for revenge and a one-night deception quickly turns into far more than either man bargained for. But how can either man trust in something that seems so easy? As long-held secrets are revealed, the attraction between Cam and Cort becomes combustible - an undeniable love that will either make or destroy them. Will Cam and Cort let their conflicting loyalties drive them apart? Or will they decide that sometimes love is the easy way?

Enjoyable

This book was my first by this author, its so good, the narration by Michael Dean was spot on. Cort totally stole my heart and Cam was so sweet to keep trusting Cort. The story itself was gripping and clever. Discovering the identity of the antagonist was easy, the story interesting enough that it didn’t matter. Definitely a must read/listen and I'll be looking for more by this author

Very enjoyable listen

I really enjoyed this listen. Cort and Cam are both so easy to love. I loved the conflict they faced between loving the *enemy* and family loyalty. They were both stubborn in their own way and had their demons. They had to learn to trust themselves and each other. The story was sweet and hot and sometimes funny. I loved it, but I did still have some questions: Why the betrayal? How did the betrayer benefit from the deaths? What happened to the other parties in the end? I felt there were some loose ends with some of the side characters that weren't tied off for me. Still good overall.

The narration was great. Mr. Dean is one of my favorite narrators.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Really good read!

I thought it was a smexy, fast-paced romance. I liked the story and the banter between Cort and Cam.
The narration was good, but he pauses a bit that was a little bit to get used to, but I still enjoyed listening to him. His pace of narration was nice. I would recommend this book.

Great audiobook

I forgot how good this book was, and hearing it in Michael Dean's voice was even better.

I really like Court and Cam, and through all the challenges thrown their way, they figure out what they mean to each other, and what they can have if they really want it.

The plot itself is very interesting and sets the tone for the other books (which I can't wait to re-read/listen to)

Insta-love & eye rolls

Maybe it reads better than it listens. I found it all to much. Too many lies, too easy to forgive, too OTT. Cort didn't feel like FBI and Cam doesn't seem like a CEO. And the sex scenes are just awkward.
I finished it but I thought it all got a bit ridiculous at the end.

Thrilling ride

I have previously read this series and absolutely loved it.
Now the opportunity to hear it being brought to life has surpassed my expectations and deeply embedded it into my memory.
This book is action packed, filled with drama, deception, betrayal, conflicting loyalties and ultimately the ever present battle between good and evil.
Michael Dean brought such a depth of emotion to these characters that they literally sprang to life.

Very entertaining!

I read this book a little over two years ago when it came out first and I really enjoyed it, and the audiobook was quite a treat as well.

I loved Camden and Cort and thought they had lots of chemistry. It was pretty much insta-love, but it was done in a way that didn't feel forced.

I had to suspend my disbelief in some of the scenes, especially in regards of an FBI agent acting like Cort did in some instances, but overall, the book was very entertaining and fun and very, very hot.

Michael Dean did a great job with Camden and Cort and with the action-packed scenes near the end. I did feel that the pace in some of the sex scenes was a bit fast for my liking, but overall, it was a really good performance.

Action packed

The Easy Way is the first book in a trilogy, I have read all the books and this audio version is incredible. The storyline is intense, emotional, full of action and with high sexual chemistry, Michael Dean absolutely delivers on all counts to convey the story perfectly.

The FBI Agent & his mark

Camden Seaver had a good run. He worked for the family business, had parents and a brother he adored, and generally was living a quiet simple life. One tragic plane crash ripped away all his security. His parents died and his brother, president of the business, has become a virtual recluse. The burden has fallen to Cam to keep things moving forward, all the while mired in his grief.

Kendrick “Cort” Cortland was also affected by the tragedy. He’s looking for answers, and has determined Cam is the quickest way to finding out what he needs to know. Seducing the man shouldn’t be too difficult, right? Except what starts out as a one-night stand quickly becomes more. Each man sees the hidden depths in the other. Finds things unique and special. The attraction heats up. Then things go sideways. (Don’t they always?)

I really liked the men in this book. Cort was appropriately aloof and protective of his heart. His love for his foster brother was clear and I was rooted for him to succeed. Cam was the one I could really relate to. He’s tried to put himself out there but, in the end, prefers to be home with a video game. He’s out of his depth and until Cort, has never found someone who understands his sense of humor or his quirkiness. We all need someone who understands our quirkiness. Oh, and I loved the ‘never have I ever’ game that carried on through the book. Lead to some interesting adventures.

There is a bit of mystery in the story which I liked. I’ve enjoyed other May Archer stories and this one was as good as the others. I’m excited to read the next two in the series as both Damon and Sebastian caught my attention and I’m definitely hoping they’ll get their happy endings.

Michael Dean narrated this book and I was quite pleased with his performance. He delivers time and again with solid narration and anytime I see his name, I know it’s going to be good. Here’s hoping the next books come out on audio shortly.

Cort & CAM

I’ve been trying to catch up on this authors backlist, so when this came out in audio I had to grab it. Michael Dean is one of my favorite narrators and he really made this story pop for me. He did a great job in piling me into the story and keeping me wanting more. It had it all - action, sexy times and great humor! Wow those sexy times were H-O-T!! I really loved the characters. Cam and Cort’s instant chemistry really worked for me. While fast, there was depth there. Their story was low angst which was exactly what I was looking for. A great listen!

Hot AF. Light-hearted. Uncomplicated.

I enjoyed listening to this fast paced, whodunit mystery, insta-lust, insta-love, feel good, MM romance with a HFN/HEA ending. I particularly liked the snarky banter and tongue in cheek dialogues. And even , when I figured out , right away, who was/were villain/villains , of the story, it still kept my attention until the end.

Hotness index: High
Sweetness meter: High
Angst levels: Low
Drama levels: Medium low
Will re-listen: Probably yes
Recommend: Yes

Michael Dean narration was engaging , entertaining and exuberant. His portrayal of Cam and Cort was on point.

A fabulous story!

Oh, I really liked this story! The storyline is fantastic, the mystery about the plane accident is so very well done!

I love the way the relationship between Camden and Cort evolves, slowly, going back and forth due the secrets Cort is keeping until he is unable to sustain the silence and all the truth comes out in the open.

They are both complex, interesting characters. You might want to scream at them from time to time but can't help to understand why they are acting as they do. And the fraternal love between Cort and Damon and Camden and Baz is a great motivation and point of understanding between them.

The dynamic between the two MC is also great. I love that they are in equal footing, and how to show vulnerability and trust each other is a conscient decision.

I'm looking forward to the next books in this series.

Michael Dean does a better job here than in other books that I had listen with him as narrator, but I still think he is over the top in some scenes, particularly when portraying strong emotions.

AMAZING!!

WOW!! What an absolutely spectacular story and an unbelievable performance by Michael Dean. Cam and Court are so incredibly hot together right from the start. I love watching their relationship grow and flourish as they unravel all the secrets not just between them but also all around them. Their back-and-forth banter is great and I really enjoyed it all throughout the story. It’s a great start to a new series and I can’t wait for the rest of the series to come out in audio and hopefully with the same narrator. The narrator did an absolutely amazing performance of all the characters and interpreting the story itself. I could not stop listening to this one and stayed up much later than I should have to make sure I finish this one but it was soooo worth it! I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

Easy Like Sunday Morning!

I've read the book before and most of the books I've read, the audio version makes everything better.
The story becomes enhanced by Michael's narration. The banter more alive. The mystery more riveting. And the steam!! HOT!
The chemistry more palpable even if there were some secrets. All in all, an enjoyable listen.

Kinda fizzles out towards the end but still a good listen

This was so good in the beginning. “Accidentally falling in love with your mark” stories are my jam. But in the end it was kind of a letdown for me. Narration was on point though👌🏻

Great narration for this Mystery MM Romance

I usually am not driven towards mystery romance but this was a sweet take for Cam and Cort. I love the sweet, shy, geeky guys so this story provides well for my MM overall low-angst romance. There was great conversation between the characters and great side characters I hope to hear more about in the rest of the series. Michael Dean provided fantastic narration, as usual!

Broome's Books Review

Michael Dean has a voice that hits in all the right spots. There were moments his voice dripped along my spine and kept me mesmerized with Cort and Cam’s story. Out of everything, my favorite parts of narration were how he portrayed their text conversations. He captured the different tones and inflections for Cam and Cort’s responses, it felt like he knew them. He had a very alpha like quality to his voice.

Cortland is determined to find a way locate and clear his foster brother, Damon, of any wrongdoing in the Seaver plane crash. He didn’t expect to find Camden Seaver, very much the antithesis of what he was expecting to find. Geeky, self-conscious, and desperate to be anywhere but where he was. He wasn’t expecting to be so drawn to someone he was supposed to hate.

The attraction between Cortland and Cam, burned in all the best ways. When the first met, they challenged each other, teased each other, and found something completely unexpected in each other.

Cortland’s desire to be as many of Cam’s firsts, well, *fans self* it was just so good. The heat factor on this one is up there. He pulled Cam out of his shell, taught him how to experience life again after a devastating loss. Cam grounded Cort. He let Cort know that there were more people in life that he could depend on than himself.

The epilogue made me so happy. I needed to know what things would be between Cort and Cam after everything. And I got more of their text conversations. I probably smiled way too much at my desk at work listening to them banter back and forth.

This was definitely a book I was able to get lost in and loved listening to.

Funny and well narrated

I liked this book quite a lot even though I felt like some parts of it could have been better.
Cort is an FBI agent doing unauthorized investigating that gets him suspended. He knows he can only trust himself and infiltrates a high society party to get closer to Cam Seaver, a man he believes is connected to Damon's (his foster brother) disappearance after he was accused of causing the plane crash resulting in the death of Mr. and Mss. Seaver and leaving their wealthy company to their sons Sebastian and Camden. Upon meeting Cam Cort is taken back by the young handsome man and his charming sweet personality. After a steamy late night encounter and some serious line-crossing on his part, Cort needs to re-group and focus on finding out who is the man behind the plane crashing and clearing Damon's name, even if he has to lie and manipulate Cam to do so.

I felt like some parts of this book were a bit rushed and that they needed to be more developed and the way Cort and Cam got together was also kind of fast. They do have amazing chemistry between them that totally balanced some of the parts of the book that I felt where weaker than the rest. That is the biggest strong point of the book, they have and interesting, funny unique connection, each character is developed and singular and it smoothed out any bumps in their week long relationship. The mystery of the plane crash was good, a bit expected but I still feel like there are some parts that I do not know (and I hope that means there will be another book about some of the other characters that will provide some answers). It's a very sexy book, and though it has the element of manipulation there is no big drama that tears them apart to weight it down.

Complications galore

Whew! Talk about hurdles to overcome to be together, Cam and Cort have them in spades. Family tragedy forces Cam to assume control of the family business, Cort is on a personal mission to track down the person responsible for causing trauma in his family. When their paths intersect sparks of all kinds fly. I can't give many details or the story would be ruined for you, but trust me, you want to invest your time in these guys and this maze-like plot. Both men are strong but hurting and the initial lies are almost enough to sink any chance they have. It was a joy to listen to the always amazing Michael Dean bring these two complicated men to life.

Love love love

I just love May Archer and her writing especially when she is paired up with Michael Dean!! This made me laugh and cry and yell out loud (which I love doing with books) Cam and Cort were amazing and I loved Cort's sense of humor.
