Excellent

Loved this book. I am a big Denis Lehane fan and this didn’t disappoint. It was too short if anything. Really well developed characters and the narrator did a wonderful Boston accent.

Amazing Audiobook

I absolutely love this audiobook, one of my favourites. If you’ve seen the movie it’s based on nothing is new apart from a few paragraphs added but it doesn’t alter the movie. The story goes along at a decent pace and the ending is amazing after what the instigator does...feels so good. The narration is spot on with the accents and difference in voices of the characters.

Highly recommend this audiobook well worthy the credit.

Great little book

Any additional comments?

A short but very enjoyable listen.

Dennis Lehane has written some excellent thrillers and a few have been made into fairly great movies. This is the third iteration of The Drop as it started life as a short story, was then written for screen and lastly fleshed out into this short novel, more or less the opposite way to normal!

The dingy Boston bar and the dangerous cast of characters that make it their home are all well drawn out in such a short space of time, none moreso than Bob, whose quiet life erupts in the wake of the bar he works in being robbed and him finding a puppy. What a strange sentence to write!

Great short listen, well read and thoroughly recommended as are the majority of Lahane's books

POOR ATTEMPT

I've read/listened to 4 or 5 of Dennis Lehane's books. I expected an imaginative and gripping story worthy of the author of Mystic River. Instead he uses the device common to second-rate thriller writers: a psychopath who tortures and kills. Didn't bother to finish the pap.
