I really enjoyed listening to this story! The world the author has created is so amazing and the world building throughout the story doesn't disappoint. I can't wait for the next book in the series and discover more about the marks, the world and the shod!

Fantasy at its best

This book shows that the world envisioned by the author has a great deal of width and variety in it and I would love to know more about the world. However the protagonist Shean is so incredibly frustrating as a character that it truly detracted from the experience. From another character's perspective it is interesting to see her, but being in her point of view is painfully frustrating with how she treats others from the get go. I understand that other readers may enjoy this and her character arc, however change in her character begins so late into the story that I spent half the time wishing she would succumb to the dangers she faced. Hopefully the future books from this author will be a smoother read, I look forward to the worlds she envisions.

Never wanted to hit an MC as much as I wanted to hit this one. The pay off is worth it, and the point of views are VERY satisfying, with an interesting world lore to boot. I'll be following your work Lynn!
