About this listen

A chilling case for Thora Gudmundsdottir, from Iceland's answer to Stieg Larsson.

When all contact is lost with two Icelanders working in a harsh and sparsely populated area on the northeast coast of Greenland, Thora is hired to investigate.

Is there any connection with the woman who vanished from the site some months earlier? Why are the locals so hostile? And could one of the team staying at the site with Thora be responsible for the disappearances?

Already an international best seller, this fourth audiobook to feature Thora Gudmundsdottir is chilling, unsettling and addictive.

I have read the Freya series, am halfway through Thora and getting through all stand alone novels. Yrsa Sigurdadottir pens terrific tales, steeped in Icelandic culture, daily life and environment. Translation is excellent and narrators give a lilting life to events and pronunciation. Extremely enjoyable.

Love this series, Thora is a great character and the books are well written. This one has an interesting change of location, isolated and confined with a small group of characters.
Narration is fantastic as always, one of my favourite narrators overall, each character has a distinct voice so you always know who's who, very well spoken which makes these books an easy listen

Great series, great narrator

Narrator’s voices are bad. Couldn’t finish it because of the narrator, really not god. No need for other words for the minimum.

I rarely choose to stop listening to an audio book but despite giving this quite a few hours, the narrator’s arch tone and range of campily posh accents just became too much to bear - in conjunction with the tedium of the hugely drawn out account of the events in Greenland. A major disappointment compared to earlier books in the series.

Tedious detail and terrible narration
