You'll do anything to get your daughter back . . .

Lauren can't wait to see her daughter again, to pick her up from university at the end of her first term. But when she arrives at her hall and knocks on the door to her room, a stranger opens it.

At first, Lauren thinks she must have the wrong room, or the wrong floor. Maybe even the wrong building.

But she soon realises the truth: Evie's not there. She hasn't been there for weeks. So where is she?

Following one family's desperate race against time as one terrifying moment unravels into a living nightmare, The Daughter is the unmissable new heart-in-mouth thriller from the Sunday Times bestselling author of The Holiday, The Mother and The Dream Home.

I've listened to some of T M Logan's other books and found them reasonably gripping, but this one seemed far-fetched to the point of absurdity. Sometimes it just made me laugh, but at other times it was repetitive to the point of tedium. I expect this genre to be more about plot than quality of writing, but this was just one cliché after another.

The narrator didn't help. Her delivery was flat and monotonous, and it was sometimes hard to distinguish between characters.

Altogether a poor effort.

Far-fetched and overwritten

The story was plausible and has probably happened to families, what I wasn’t keen on was the narrator, her voice just didn’t do it for me and annoyed me at times, she kept the same voice the whole way through, I like the narrator of audiobooks to make me get into the characters and therefore get into the story but that wasn’t the case on this audiobook.

Could happen to anyone

I personally like Louise Brealey’s narration style and she was the reason I chose to listen to this book. The story line was kind of predictable but that being said I really enjoyed the mother/son dynamic.

Pretty good

Once again This author writes another great story, there is always a twist which I just love. His writing is clear and precise, did this one with audio love the narrator which added to the suspense and tension to his writing, think this the 4th one I’ve reward by this author can’t wait for the next one, highly recommend reading his work 5 stars from me

T.M.Logans style is so real you can really identify with the characters, it paints the characters in your mind and you are hooked. There's always a surprise or two in store.
