About this listen

Book 1: The Icehouse

A Murderer on the Loose.

A Detective Haunted by the Past.

A Race Against Time.

DCI Jonathan Walker is a senior detective for the Lancashire Constabulary in North West England. He's haunted by events of the past and hell bent on redemption.

"A moody, enveloping crime thriller." - SPR Editorial Review

Book 2: The Pike

A party gone wrong?

Or a sickening group attack?

Not everything is what it seems, and not everyone is who they appear to be.

A young girl is found dead at the Pike Tower on Winter Hill near Chorley and DCI Walker and the newly promoted DC Briggs are drafted in to investigate. But what at first seems like a party gone wrong, or a sickening group attack, transpires to be much, much more.

"Authentically written, patiently penned, and satisfyingly dark, The Pike is a top-flight crime thriller." - SPR Editorial Review

Book 3: The Tower

A seaside town on its knees.

A group hell bent on making it a better place, by KILLING.

Can DCI Walker stop whoever it is before things get completely out of hand?

When the Head Clown at Blackpool Tower Circus turns up dead in suspicious circumstances, a criminal investigation ensues. But when another body turns up just days later, the double homicide becomes the talk of the town.

"An unsettling but highly entertaining thriller." SRP Editorial Review

I really enjoyed all three books and narration. Reviews vary and I can see why. Female voices may make you chuckle at first but I think they improved down the line or maybe I got used to, either way it didn’t spoil my listening. DCI goes on his own a lot and first two may appear single sided at times but stories are so likeable they deserve 5 stars.

Great books and narrator

The absolutely AWFUL portrayal of the female DC, or to be honest any female—- truly painfully awful! Almost stopped listening so many times - please get a decent narrator for the female roles - I think if unchanged this will lose you readers/listeners

Great male narrator !

Nothing at all , loved this trilogy , I normally fall asleep but not with this series , very punchy and I really like the rapport with the characters.

The twists and turns were great , love the narrator .

I loved the three stories, had to have it on timer to stop me listening constantly!
I like the narrator however, the use of “said superintend Hughes, Walker, Briggs” etc constantly, really irritates me and in my opinion unnecessary!!
Won’t stop me though, moving on to book four now.

Great listen and stories.

Loved the story and the characters grew. Well read and enjoyed the three books very much.
Hope there are more
