An incredible, insightful and heart wrenching book. Who knew it wasn’t just socially and economically deprived children at risk of exploitation. Money can get you many things but it can’t buy safety when a parent does not parent.

This is by far Louise’s best book.
The story telling is compelling and you feel Charlotte’s anguish within the narration.
As a fellow foster carer I feel Louise’s other books can have a bit of a ‘hero complex’ but that doesn’t happen within this book and it’s truly a great read
I hope all future foster carers, professionals working with children and law enforcement listen to stories like Charlotte’s

Beautifully narrated and read, this story is absolutely shocking and really opens your eyes to what goes on and how money and “class” mean you can be exploited horrifically. Looking forward to the next two in this series. Really enjoyed

Firstly, this subject is so crucial for everyone to understand. I believed I knew a fairly good bit about the subject of county lines; but it is at a much deeper level and on a much wider scale than I realised. Louise, thank you for making this your duty to educate us. Everyone needs to know. I have become somewhat involved in the International Justice Mission (IJM) as well as Stop the Traffik organisations - both borne of learning and listening to all that you have exposed to us, over the last few years, through your and others like you, writings. Both of these organisations exist doing incredible work for a lot of what you have written about yet I've always been acutely aware that there is so very much still to do. I am a general nurse (in the 'real world') so do what I can, when I can. But the scale, the 'brains' behind these horrors are frightening and need to be stopped. I appreciate the way that you've illuminated those few people who get how the human psyche works and use that understanding to make change (Aiofe). Thank you Louise. This was well worth the wait.

Dear Charlie Sanderson. You delivered this absolutely perfectly and I am so so pleased (cheeky to say proud of you, but I am 😘) I was HUGELY concerned when waiting for the release of this to see it wasnt going to be Melanie Crawley. But you could not have executed this harrowing, troubling, tale any better - I was taken, from your first utterance. This was perfect, and I could not stop listening......
You hit those various accents perfectly - I FELT Vera, I FELT Aiofe, I FELT the uber posh mum of Charlotte but most of all I felt Charlotte..... her fear, her loss of self etc. You delivered the F bomb with tangible feeling, I believe you invested in all of these feelings too. I hope you are to read the whole series. These lost children's stories deserve exactly your delivery. Thank you. Lou McC
