I was loving this until....

Hmmmm, unfortunately I got to book 3, Rivers and I couldn't get through it. I have seen reviews saying that before and I couldn't ever understand what they were talking about.... Until now.

I honestly just can't hack the female narrator and her character. The narrator sounds like she's got a blocked nose or something. I'm not a nasty person so if she reads this, don't take it personally... Everyone has different opinions.

Plus the character is nuts! Is there really women in the world that go on like that?! I never pick everything apart around me like that so I just can't associate. I'm so confused. She's just odd.

Sorry but I've got to be honest and although I'm doing a terrible job of explaining my reasons.... I'm a bit flabbergasted....
ALSO...
Someone PLEASE tell the female narrator in the Rivers book that no one says "UGG" it's much more likely to be a frustrated, forced sigh... Like "UGH" so the G is silent.... She said it like ten times or something by the time I was incredibly sick of hearing it repeated.

I know that I sound mean and I honestly feel truly awful because I loved the first 2 books and how they worked the time line between them. I would definitely read the first 2 again but I can't hack book 3. Hmmmm..... Do I skip to book 4 or give up now because I'm irritated with losing a credit and not enjoying it all of the way through?!?! I just don't know!!!

Ps if you are reading the reviews to find out if the book has saucy encounters (I've spotted a few of you 🤔😘) yep there's some canny saucy bits in the first 2.

I have read several books from this author so I really hope that the narrator in Rivers doesn't turn people away that don't know how good their stories truly are.

Meh

The first two stories were pretty good engaging stories, however the third story was beyond boring I had to skip through some of the first chapters then forced myself to go back and listen to the ones I skipped as the story seemed to make very little sense. Even though I listened all the
way through I found Fisher's story to be convoluted and beyond unbelievable with shockingly unconvincing narration. Book 3 was so bad that I really didn't care about the two main characters and it made me care very little for book 4 which also seemed to just go round and round in boring circles.

With regards to the narration considering most of the books characters are born and raised in the southern states the accents were from nowhere near. Also it's really weird when no two narrators vocalise the same few characters even remotely similarly from one book to the next.

In conclusion books 1 and 2 are passable verging on good but books 3 and 4 are so horrendously bad that they dragged the review score way way down. Sorry, not sorry!

The Crow Bros

Spark - 2⭐️
The storyline was ok, but the narration wasn’t good and felt really rushed and devoid of any emotion.

Tulsa - 3,5⭐️
Storyline was ok and the narration was way better on both counts in this one.

Rivers - 4⭐️
The story, again ok, maybe a bit on the boring side but the narration, especially Jacob Morgan made it completely worth it. I bet he could be reading an instruction manual and make it sound good!

Ridge - 2⭐️
The story was sooo forced and prolonged. Didn’t really care for the narration either, so wanted to DNF pretty much every 30min but made myself finish anyway.

Good

I read these books previously and loved them, so thought I would listen to them, and still loved it, can't say I liked all of the narrators because one of the female ones voice grates on me, but other than that, I really enjoyed it.

A great series with amazing narrators.
I was listening to the whole series already 2 or 3 times.

Each Crow Brother story is special and I love that all the guys get strong and amazing women at their sides.
