About this listen

Some people would kill for a second chance.

Kat is rebuilding her life. After losing her husband in a tragic accident, moving to the countryside is her chance to start again.

Encouraged by her new and only friend Ginny, Kat joins New Horizons, dubbed the Coffin Club by its members. And that’s how she meets Nico. Instantly drawn to each other, Nico seems like Kat’s perfect match. He is kind, caring, handsome and, most importantly, a father to five-year-old Magdalena. This could be Kat’s shot at the one thing she has always wanted: to be a mother.

BUT SOMETIMES BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR....

Well how much I disliked the main character tells how good it was written. I reduced a star because of the animal cruelty in it made me feel very uncomfortable...

Wow

Not the best thriller if I've figured out all the twists about 25% of the way in. 10/10 on the Spanish accents though by the reader.

The narrators voice was annoying, but then again so was the character she was narrating.

There were details within the story that were badly researched or not realistic. For example, women with fibroids are not at greater risk of cancer..

Alright, if you like that kind of thing.

The Coffin Club has some wonderfully sculpted characters that I could really imagine in their setting. Each one with a well rounded backstory that adds to the realism of it all. Lots of great references in there too that made it both relatable and funny.
I do like a challenge when it comes to working out what might or might not happen in a story and am too often disappointed when my thinking is proved right. Not the case in this one. The twists kept me on my toes and my nose firmly in the book!
Couldn't put it down. I've seen from other reviews that this is the first novel from this author. If that's the case, I look forward to the next book.....and the next. Impressive stuff.

Exciting and captivating!
