I loved both Reid and Connor and how they came together as partners. They have the most beautiful relationship - I could listen to this story over and over!

I remember Connor when he was a sullen young man always getting into scrapes. Legitimately angry as his mother died and he was now in the care of a man she married – very briefly. Logan himself had issues and the two were struggling. Along came Seth. Seth helped Logan and, in the process, the two fell in love. That love encompassed Connor, and eventually he turned the corner.
In the second book, focusing on Will (Seth’s co-worker) and Michael, Connor is only mentioned casually and, interestingly, a friend of Seth and Logan sort of outs Connor. Or at least let it drop he’s dating a man. That’s the lead up to this book.
Connor has been crushing on Reid for years. As his best friend Asher’s older brother, Reid was untouchable. Until the night Reid needs a fake boyfriend and Connor gets thrust into the role. Hilarity ensues. As it did for the other books. Well, humor tinged with a poignancy. Connor needs money. Reid has money. The arrangement of a loan in exchange for pretending to be Reid’s boyfriend is the lifeline Connor needs.
Of course, their affection turns serious. Connor’s already in love with Reid, but Reid sees Connor in a new light. Like the fact he’d always seen Connor as straight. Like the fact he was always Asher’s friend. Finally, when he realizes Connor’s a virgin, Reid very delicately introduces the man to the pleasures of the flesh.
When secrets come out of the darkness, though, life intervenes and then men have some tough decisions to make. What will their futures look like and – more importantly – will they be able to stick it out and move from fake to real? Well, this is a Keira Andrews Christmas romance, so of course I get my happy ending.
Finally, I’ll mention Kirt Graves’ wonderful narration. John Solo narrated the first book while Greg Boudreaux helmed the second. I enjoyed having a third narrator – one of Keira’s and my favorites – to helm this story. Kirt settled into the characters beautifully and did a fantastic job with this narration. I highly recommend the entire trilogy.
