About this listen

Some sparks can't be ignored...

When Penny leaves her family behind and opens the door to her first college class, she's armed with three things: her snazzy new wheelchair, unshakeable determination, and a plan for independence. What she doesn't expect is her instant connection to CJ, the charming actor who shows her around the labs.

Their attraction is undeniable, but Penny's convinced they won't work. She lives life at a measured pace, while he's always in motion, bouncing between social events and meeting producers. They're better off as lab partners than love interests... right?

But as their friendship deepens, Penny and CJ discover there might be more to their story. Between late-night study sessions and shared dreams, they begin to question their original assumptions. Could learning to lean on each other be exactly what they both need?

Because sometimes the heart knows what it wants, even when the mind needs convincing...

A heartwarming coming-of-age story perfect for fans of sweet college romances. The Chemistry Test will have you believing in the science of happily ever after.

Inspiring and heartwarming

Sometimes you just need something insightful and hopeful, and this really is it. Voice acting is a big deal for me with audiobooks, and its so easy to get it wrong with split POV but this one felt really natural. A lovely cosy romance, perfect if you need a little break from *gestures broadly*.

Fluffy romance we all need right now

liked:
-the disability representation of someone just living a normal life with a disability,
-shows how little the world is setup for disabled people
-clearly understandable and so enjoyable whether youre disabled or not
-I loved CJ, so full as a character and just a sweet caring guy, shows how most inter-abled coupled cope and the start of that adaptation

dislikes:
-nothing really, a few medical things felt over-explained to me but honestly to make it a good story for everyone, including people who know nothing about disability this is kinda essential and it wasn't too much really

Exceptional story and disability representation

I loved this book. As someone living with chronic illnesses it was healing to hear someone else’s story. I loved that it was dealing with everyday issues (re disability or otherwise) but they were never made out to be victims etc. It was a regular book, and the disability was just part of it.

Great representation

I absolutely loved this book. As someone with a chronic illness myself it was so refreshing to read a book with a disabled main character. The story was inspiring and heartfelt. And the disability representation was really well done and really relatable. I loved all the characters, particularly Penny. Would definitely recommend this book.

Beautifully written heartfelt story
