Amazing box set!

Book 1

This book was not what I was expecting at all.

Valentin is the head of the Carrera Cartel in Houston (insert squeal here), he is a ruthless killer.

Eden is a bartender and lives a fairly quiet life, until she meets Valentin. The things she sees, they are unbearable. She has never been a part of violence in her life. This is all new and scary as hell. When she is kidnapped, she thinks it is the end. But there are more players in the game than she realizes and the bad guys aren't always as obvious as they seem.

The prologue to this book had me. Completely and utterly had me. I was hooked. I needed to know!

This book takes place all over southern Texas and in parts of Mexico which was a sweet surprise to me when they mentioned Victoria, Houston, Hwy 59, Corpus Christi.. this is home to me. I know these places and it was surreal to see them in this sense. Not the way that I see them on a regular basis. This is the dark side of home to me.

I loved watching Eden grow so to speak. I loved how the blinders came off and she saw a whole new world that she wasn't privy to before she was kidnapped and at times it was scary but it was so thrilling to me.

I love that Cora didn't hold back on the bloodshed and the violence, she didn't skate over the issues and made this book feel so real. The intermixing of Spanish and English was soo perfect. It gave the book more of a real feel. I loved every part of this book and want more. I need to know what happens next, where this thing goes.

Book 2

Leighton Harcourt has found herself in some trouble in San Marcos, and is needing to hide out. Her brother Brody tells her to come to Houston and he will protect her. What she doesn't expect is to run into Matty, a blast from the past, but the story isn't pretty.

Mateo Cortes is a member of the Carrera Cartel. He is working with her brother Brody, unbeknownst to Leighton. When he realizes who she is things change drastically. The problems that are following Leighton are more than these two have bargained for.

They don't want to start a war but a war is coming for them, the question is.. will they make it out alive?

The craziness and turmoil throughout this book is intense. The back story with the two main characters is bittersweet.

I loved these two so much, you can tell from the start they are meant to be. They have such a strong connection but the history is hard to overcome, and the world seems to be fighting against them. Can love conquer all or will they end in heartache?

Book 3

I love mafia and I love Cora Kenborn, I have been obsessed with the Carerra Cartel. In books 1 and 2 I thought Brody was a pushover, a "softy" and DEFINITELY not cut out for Cartel life... BUT boy did he show his true colors in this book! He was alpha, take charge, and really showed his potential. I was concerned with how the book started out that my suspicions of him would be proven right, but I was thankfully wrong!

Brody is a lieutenant now, he is second in command and is running all stateside operations for Val. When Adrianna seeks him out he knows it won't end well but he has to do something. Things are getting out of hand and he needs to find the people responsible.

I did not expect all the flair and drama and betrayal, but I should have. I mean it's Cora after all and she has yet to disappoint. However, I do think she saved the best for last. I loved Valentin so much and Matteo was fire but seeing Brody transform throughout the books and start taking command and showing how he can step up and be a man.... Left. Me. Panting!

I was on the fence about Adrianna I wanted to trust her and wanted to see the good but I felt so hot and cold about her. Then the more that happened the more I was afraid I was going to get blindsided.. Needless to say I was on edge and loved it. The thrill and the excitement, that's what I love about books, I love when they suck you in and tap dance on your emotions.

This box set was amazing! I loved every minute of it! Brian Pallino, Sarah Puckett, Alan Carlson, Aaron Shedlock, Stacy Gonzalez were PHENOMENAL! They brought so much life to these characters. It was definitely an experience and I loved it!

Suspenseful and Steamy!

Blurred Red Lines - Val was born and raised in a Mexican cartel and he has always known that it was his destiny to takeover the family when the time was right. He has not only been on the receiving end of violence and loss, but he has handed it out as well. these books kept the mafia element throughout which sometimes takes a back seat in other mafia romance books I've listened to. the narration for all three books was great and getting to hear from other characters featured in the series made it even better. it's also great value getting all three books for 1 credit.

Get ready for an amazing ride!

Dark, gritty and delicious, this trilogy is a fantastic listen. The Carrera Cartel is powerful, and they will do what needs to be done to keep their merchandise selling. When Eden is in the wrong place at the wrong time, she is taken and held by the Valentin. But who knew this little candy apple red haired woman would get under the tough skin of this commanding man. And our story begins. This is not a story for the light hearted. Kenborn does not weaken the violence. She writes with the ferocity of the content, and at the same time she humanizes the characters. I love Val. He is a conflicted boss, ready to deal with the problems occurring, yet he has a heart. Eden is a fabulous character. She's no pushover and is ready for revenge.
In book 2, Leighton finds herself in trouble and calls her brother Brody, the ADA for help. He has always taken care of her, and now putting Mateo on her detail will change both their lives. When they meet up, they realize they have a past together. But both carry secrets that can destroy their relationship.
Book 3 features Brody and Adriana. We have met Brody previously. Leighton's brother and the ADA, he is on the right side of the law. So what made him switch sides and find himself entrenched in the Carrera Cartel? Life is not going as planned, things are falling apart when Adriana barrels in, full force. Adriana is seeking revenge, All her life a sham, she is ready to seek her justice and Brody is one who needs to feel it. Twists, turns and surprises fill the stories with violence, suspense, passion and love. This is my kind of book and I can't wait for more.

These narration teams are phenomenal. Brian Pallino scores as Val with a sensual, yet dangerous sounding Mexican accent. He is just so good! Sarah Puckett as Eden brings that vengeful powerhouse of a woman, ready to give as good as she gets in all aspects of her life. As Leighton Leighton grows and matures quickly, all through the magic of Puckett's nuances. Aaron Shedlock pulls out his Mexican accent and becomes Mateo. Alpha male, protective, and brave, this narration is spot on with the character. Alan Carlson as Brody lets us feel his conflict as he finds his way in the cartel, and his growing love for Adriana. And Stacy Gonzalez gives us the spunky, strong willed Adriana, holding nothing back. She makes her real, vulnerable, and at times infuriating! I loved them all, found they flowed well together and enjoyed this immensely!

Dark Mafia Romance

Blurred Red Lines by Cora Kenborn is a dark mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Brian Pallino, Sarah Puckett, and Alan Carlson.

I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed the relationship between Eden and Valentin. I liked that we got Eden, Valentin, and Brody’s points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

Brian, Sarah, and Alan did an amazing job on the narration. This trio really knows how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

#2 - This was a nice second chance cartel romance. Has some heated scenes and an interesting story. I wanted to like this more 😕
#3 - My least favorite of the three 😬 and I usually enjoy the enemies to lovers trope. There just wasn't enough chemistry between the h and H outside their attraction for me.

intense, action packed

Cora Kenborn trilogy is a mafia/cartel series has what you would expect in this intense action packed series.
2 Mexican cartels, at war , one is trying to move in on the Carrera cartel. Missing drug shipments, explosions, murder, betrayal, kidnapping, torture, and so much going on, that kept me on the edge of my seat. If you like mafia stories, I recommend this series of The Carrera Cartel. This story has it all. The one person that should be trusted, is the most dangerous of all.
Aaron Shedlock, Sarah Puckett, Stacey Gonzalez and Alan Carson are phenomenal narrators. They captured the character's voices and personality with perfection.

Excellent audiobook set!

These are my favorite audiobooks written by Cora Kenborn so far. It makes a perfect set to be able to listen to them all at once. I experienced so many feelings while listening. I was completely invested in the characters and outcome. Great for long trips!

The narrators are excellent! The audiobooks rolled like a movie in my head. Emotional performances. Perfection.

There are absolutely no words for this collection. Gritty, suspense filled, twist at every turn, mafia, dark, your heart will go pitter patter, goodness. Totally loved this ❤️ ❤️

I really enjoyed this set because they are more then just connecting books it's really like one long story. We get to see the same characters throughout all the books. There is a lot of cartel in these stories and the twisted lives they live. These books will hook you in from book one till the last page waiting for the next twist in the story. If you're into cartel stories with a great storyline over a number of books this collection is for you!

Wow this book was incredible. I love a good Mafia/ cartel book. The way the story was told was very intriguing to me. Cora Kenborn is a new author to me. I am loving her writing style. Can't wait to see what happens next. Brian Pallino, Sarah Puckett, and Alan Carlson all did a fabulous job narrating this book. Great accents!

Faded Gray Lines

This is the second book in the Carrera Cartel series. The first book focused on Eve and Val. This book is about Laken and Mateo. Laken is the mayor's daughter and the sister of a DEA agent. Mateo is one of Val's right hand men. They have a long complicated history. I loved how this book ended! Sarah Puckett and Aaron Shedlock did a fantastic job narrating. Can't wait to see who the next book will be about.

I loved this series. This is the third book in the Carrera Cartel series. Each book got better and better. I loved the angst and slightly twisted family tree. This was the best ending for this series. Everyone got their HEA. Stacy Gonzales and Alan Carlson did a fantastic job narrating this book!

Yes. Yes. Yes.

All the narrators did such a great job. The stories are really well thought out. Lots of twists and turns. There was just one thing that I knew would never happen, but the story is fiction. I get it. This was worth every credit. Very suspenseful. Look forward to reading more from this author.

Female narrator ruined these books.

Audiobooks are one of my favorite things, but only when the narrators can pull me in. Author should have used a different female for each of these books. I just couldn’t connect to her voice. I’m mad cause I bought the trilogy 🥺

Riveting!💜

Riveting!!!
Absolutely brilliant. From the moment I started this book I was on the edge of my seat. Exciting, angsty, mysterious and just the right amount of sex. I loved that the heroine was not portrayed as innocent and naive. Twists and turns throughout the entire book kept it exciting. The narration was absolutely perfect. I’m a sucker for a great accent and the Hispanic accent was so hot. 🔥🔥 All the narrators did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life. Well done everyone!! This is book 1 with an HEA.
I highly recommend this book!

Book 2
A great mafia romance!
This was a fantastic second chance mafia romance. The chemistry was on fire. There was so much mafia family & blood family drama plus some plot twists that will you keep you on the edge of your seat.
The narration was fantastic. Some of the accents seemed to be stronger in parts by both narrators but overall they performed this story well and I enjoyed it very much. The conclusion of this book was particularly good.
This is book 2 with an HEA and can be read as a standalone.
I highly recommend this book/series.

Sisters Spotlight 💜

Book 3
Good ending to this series, However, this was my least favorite of this series. There were too many top players and broken pasts, that for me it got confusing. I also felt like their constant posturing was getting old. Always trying to be more important than the other. IMO this story was full of redundancies, constantly reminding us of who she was, who he was etc. it just felt unnecessary. That being said, the actual wrap up of this series was well written. There were few unexpected surprises along the way that really brought closure to this story.
The narration was very good.
This is book 3 in this series and they must be read in order to fully enjoy this series as it was intended.
