About this listen

One year ago, I buried my husband.

One year ago, I held his hand and said goodbye.

Now I spend most of my days lost somewhere between trying to remember every smallest detail of our lives, and trying to forget it all. I fill my hours with work until I’m too exhausted to remember him, to feel anything at all.

One year, 365 days - and then one knock at my door changes everything. A letter from him, a last request, a secret will:

My dearest Nadia,

Trust me, my love. One last time, trust me. Sometimes the epilogue to one story is the beginning of another.

this story is about unconditional love and finding a way though grief. Grief for those who are left behind and the grief those who know they are departing this world sooner than they would like feel. its about the devastation, the acceptance and learning how to live and love again. The way Adrian supports his wife and what he puts in place for knowing the outcome he's anticipating, is the true definition of unconditional love. by doing so is some what cathartic for him and helps with his own grief knowing he's done everything he can when the time comes to say goodbye.
I don't think I've ever been on such an emotional journey while listening to a book as I have with this one. the writing is heartfelt, raw and honest and captures in words and story how most feel but are unable to put into words. coupled with the fantastic performance from the narrator's it makes for one hell of listen.
