Where does The Bride Wore Dead rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
up there with the best , sunny lu's narration was sublime
Any additional comments?
i loved this tale of a food critic with digestive issues but with a feisty uncompromising nature , i found the main characters endearing and more than one 1 liner that had me actually laughing out loud!
i thought the story held together very well and i found myself drawn in and anticipating what would happen next whilst willing Josie to get her man in more ways than one!
thoroughly good read!

A fun murder mystery/ romance. I really liked the characters; even the peripheral characters had depth. The author and narrator were both new to me, but I'm already downloading book 2 as I type this.

Narrator sounds whiney
cozy-mystery, amateur-sleuth, women-sleuths
Lots of relaxing fun to sight read, but really annoying as an audio. It's fun, suspenseful, and rather twisty. Most of the characters are engaging and well done. But skip the audio unless you enjoy whiny narration.

Solid addition to any fun mystery lover's library
Josie Tucker joins, perhaps somewhat bemusedly, the ranks of the interesting, almost accidental, and entirely enjoyable crime solvers. 90s kids will find Josie friendly and familiar with a wry and honest and ever so slightly innocent spirit.
The mystery was, as many say, cozy. Curious enough to keep me guessing, not too many sharp turns, but still managing to surprise me with the details. It's a story for lovers of the genre who enjoy familiar journeys with new scenery. It's a good ride.
Sunny Lu does a marvelous job bringing Josie Tucker to life and bringing just the right flavor to the story. Her rendition of friends and foes is vivid and hilarious.
You will like this book if: You gobble up mystery novels and enjoy a new heroine with fun friends and entertaining enemies.
You will not like this book if: You're looking for something wildly new or are out for something deep and literary, rather than light and fun.

Really Bad Voices
This book will appeal to those who like characters who continue to act against their own self interests, and those who don't mind way too convenient endings. (Set up for a series alert.) The reader kills the book by making most of the characters sound like squeaky voiced simpletons...even the men. Really annoying reading.

Pretty terrible
The story was pretty terrible and horribly slow. I did listen to the entire thing, but I had to keep checking the time left because I just wanted it to be over! It was really anticlimactic and full of clichés. I was very disappointed in the story. However, I feel that the narrator made the book much worse than it actually was. All of the voices sounded the same, and the narrator barely put any inflection into any of her voices. It was a pretty awful experience. It was so monotonous that I actually forgot that I was listening to a book a few times and zoned out. It was like some monks chanting for a few hours. Terrible unless you tone them out and make them background noise for something fun. Overall, I will not read/listen to this author again and I will most CERTAINLY NOT listen to anything by this narrator. I'm pretty upset that I even paid for this book. Lesson learned, I suppose.
