Summary

I’m not boyfriend material.

If a trail of broken hearts and a piss-poor record of failed relationships have taught me anything, it’s this. My buddies are happy to give me shit about my latest breakup from here to next Sunday. Thanks, but I’d rather have a root canal.

And a vasectomy.

At the same time.

Relief comes in an unlikely package - the gorgeous and feisty Maren. She just so happens to be my best friend’s sister, so that’s not awkward at all.

But I’m a man on a mission, and Maren is down to teach me all the ways I’ve been failing as a boyfriend. Apparently, there are many. And it’s all very informative - until I start to catch feelings.

Now it’s not just my reputation on the line, but my heart, too.

Great audio!

🎧 AUDIO REVIEW 🎧 BOOK 🌟🌟🌟🌟 AUDIO 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 First of all loved the audio for this one as usual, the voices and way it flows made me listen start to finish. I enjoyed the book, the way they wanted each other but didn’t tell and the push and pull. I hated how part of there story went but glad resolved very quickly. Her brother wanted him to check on his sister a lot but I found when his sister part where they she never heard from her brother etc so thought it was odd. If he was so protective you think we would have had that. Looking forward to the other books in series to see where each guys story ends.

Fun, flirty, and sexy

3.5 Stars This was a cute and fun story, as you come to expect from Kendall Ryan. It had some fun banter and lots of sexy time. I was a little disappointed that the story didn't really relate to the blurb, I sat there waiting for Maren to teach Hayes how to be a better boyfriend and it never came. But otherwise, it a great. Hayes’ grandma was fantastic, I love her and her little side story, it gave an added feel to the story. I loved Maren, but I have to say that Hayes annoyed me a little, and I found myself telling Maren to cut her losses and go find someone worthy of her. His back and forth was giving me whiplash. And the way he behaved was made worse by the lack of reaction by Wolfie. So it felt all for nothing. This story is on the sexy side, I mean, Hayes is part owner of a sex toy shop after all. I think I would have liked a little more story and communication between Hayes and Maren. Things felt rushed between them in the bedroom, and I never really felt this amazing connection between them. But they had chemistry. The side characters were funny, and I enjoyed the banter between them all. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Sebastian York played the annoying and cocky character of Hayes well. And Erin Mallon was fabulous as the sweet, Maren. Both transitioned well from each character, and for the most part kept the character voices unique. There were a couple of instances were Wolfie did sound a little different during Sebastian’s pov but that may have been interpretation. The production was fine with no issues of note. The last 45 ish minutes of the audiobook is the first five chapters of The Bedroom Experiment. Performed by Jason Clarke.

HE TRIES NOT TO GIVE IN 💞

I recieved this book for Free to Give My True & Honest Review I also brought the audio as it was due out at the same time & the narration by Erin Mallon & Sebastian York brings Maren Cox the younger sister of his best mate Wolfie, since they were kids. And Hayes Ellison has kept his feelings buried by sleeping around with any girl. And its not until he decided that he's going to Give Up Women. And he's there always for Maren like when he's called to check on her when she didn't go into work, but its all to do with an accident by hot wax 😅 Maren has been feeling the same deep feelings for Hayes for just as long & as Strong. And we see alot go on for them during their time here & it getting more open when Maren is wanting help with an event to have an auction to help save her work place the nursing home Riverside where her grandfather stayed prior & what she loves. But its NOT JUST them whom finds someone with the help of Riverside 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨👫

A great brother's best friend book

I love a Kendall Ryan rom-com. This book was sweet and left me with a smile on my face. If you are a fan of brother's best friend books, I definitely recommend you check this out. Hayes is taking a date from women. Maren is Hayes' best friend's little sister and completely off limits to him, but she's the girl he's always wanted. These two get thrown together on a project and the sparks are flying even more than usual. Though being together is forbidden to the both of them, they can't resist. I enjoyed both Hayes and Maren and liked watching their romance blossom. I wish we would have gotten more of them as for real couple, that's my only issue with this one. Otherwise it was a great listen. It was narrated by my favorite female narrators (Erin Mallon) and Sebastian York, who always does an incredible job. My favorite part about it was the side romance with Hayes's grandma Rosie and Don. I liked this one a lot, and I'm looking forward to Maren's brothers book!

A frisky read!

His not boyfriend material... Another hit from a favourite author! Enjoyed every second of it. Honestly, this book was a life sent because I just needed an escape and it provided! Now that I am done, do you know what I am going to do?? That's right, re-listen! Or, maybe I will get the kindle version and read it! Either way, diving back in! The narrators were, of course, brilliant and outstanding!

Love a man that knows what he wants!

Hayes and Maren have the best story to lighten the mood and cause some laughs. These two are fun and light, they're intense and sexy. They had a pull toward each other that I don't even know how they resisted as long they did! I have to say that I am beyond giddy to watch this pack of players all thanked in the heart with a case of feelings! I love that Kendall Ryan started to tease us with the next book in this series. I'm eagerly awaiting Wolf's takedown! With the narrator unit being Sebastian York and Erin Mallon, The Boyfriend Effect had plausible hit writtfit his sweet, tender voice. It hits all the right spots. Erin Mallon also hit this narration right on the mark. Her voice is like velvet... all soft and luscious!

Entertaining and sweet...

Its a ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 3.5 stars for this best friend sister/brother's best friend, forbidden love rom-com. The narrators Sebastian York and Erin Mallon brought the story out making it entertaining and a quick and easy listen. Hayes Ellison and Maren Cox have known each other for many years. Their connection stems from having Maren's brother as Hayes business partner. Hayes is not boyfriend materials and his past relationships is proof of that. He does not know what he is doing wrong or could it be that that the one he wants has always been right in front of him but is off-limits. Over the years something progressed into something more between the two of them; however, the more they are there for one another in random aspects in their lives the chemistry is becoming more hard to resist. To add, Hayes's grandma Rosie is a sweetheart and made it worthwhile especially when she has a love interest making Hayes uncomfortable. LOL. This is a sweet start to a new series entailing a group of friends who are business partners owning an adult toy company: Frisky Business. Looking forward to more and seeing how their stories unfolds.

Sweet and Steamy Romance!

I absolutely adored this witty, sweet and sexy forbidden romance! Hayes has always had a thing for his business partner and best friend's little sister, but the bro code makes her off limits. They are all good friends and when Maren is having a rough time, Hayes is there for her. He agrees to help her with her work issues, and she offers to help him be a better boyfriend because he goes through girlfriends easily, never staying with one for long. They more time they spend together, the harder it is to deny the chemistry they have always shared. But what will happen to his friendship and business if he can't be a good boyfriend to one woman he has always wanted? I really loved watching the transformation of Hayes and Maren's relationship. It was sweet and romantic, and their fiery chemistry was off the charts! Narrators, Sebastian York, and Erin Mallon deliver all the emotion, wit, and steam perfectly. York's deep sexy voice makes Hayes even more romantic, fun, and sexy. Mallon is a natural portraying Maren's strength, determination. I really enjoyed both their abilities to bring these characters to life and make me love Hayes and Maren even more. I loved all the secondary characters who made this romance even more fun and heartwarming. What a great start to the Frisky Business series, I can't wait for more of this witty, sweet and sexy series!

Good story with great narration

The Boyfriend Effect is the first book in the new Frisky Business series, and it was quintessential Kendall Ryan. The tone and feel of the story was light from start to finish, with very little angst and a whole lot of two people figuring out what it is they truly share together. Maren and Hayes were easily likable as main characters, and we've got them trying to get past their shared tie of Wolfie and that maybe Hayes isn't as terrible of a boyfriend as he believed himself to be. I loved that Maren had some confidence to her, that she knew that what was missing in Hayes's life was someone like her by his side. Or maybe not just any ol' someone who was similar to her, but HER her. There also wasn't a whole lot of unnecessary dragging out of the story and inasmuch as I love my angst, there wasn't drama for the sake of drama here. Sebastian York and Erin Mallon added that extra bit of sizzle with some great narration. In the six hours it took me to listen to this book, I was happily entertained and quite satisfied with the romance, the story, and the cast of characters. Four stars for the story, five stars for the narration, so an average of 4.5 stars for The Boyfriend Effect. ♥

This audiobook is entertainment gold. The way the story is narrated and how Hayes and Maren are brought to life is amazing. I just loved listening and honestly didn’t want it to end. The banter was fantastic and the whole storyline had my attention. Hayes and Maren have sizzling chemistry and their ease of friendship is wonderful. Hayes grandma is such good value too and this story definitely made my heart happy. It was easy to listen to and I would highly recommend it. Will Hayes and Maren get their happily ever after? Loved it.

Sizzling hot forbidden storyline.

Sebastian York and Erin Mallon rocked this narration! If you’re looking for a brother’s best friend storyline with a lot of sparks this is one for you. Hayes and Maren’s chemistry is sizzling hot and forbidden. I also enjoyed the supporting characters and can’t wait to listen to their stories.
