About this listen

As WWII rolls across Europe, Kitty boards a ship set for England. Money is what she really needs right now, especially with tiny baby Billy back in Dublin.

In Lancashire, Kitty settles into the hard work and soon makes new friends, playing in the Bomb Girls Swing Band by night. Life seems to be looking up. But when a letter arrives from home, she realises she might need her friends’ help before it's too late and she loses her baby forever....

"An absolute joy to read." (Kate Thompson, bestselling author of Secrets of the Sewing Bee)

As tends to happen with Daisy's novels, I'm sad to leave the characters behind from this book.
There's 3 main bomb girls whom we really get to know, and their individual stories are equally as important, and have their own resolutions. Yet there is still a cohesive feel to the overall story, linked as it is to the performing of music.
It doesn't matter to me that certain parts of the story are predictable, that happens at times, but it gives a familiarity and comforting feel. And I still wanted to know exactly how things turned out.

Anne Dover narrates this one, and hope she does any future daisy styles books too!!
This is definitely a feel good story, with true friendships seeing the bomb girls through hard times. Really liked it.
