A wonderful story beautifully told and presented . The Bruno series continues to. enchant with every new release eagerly awaited.

"The Body in the Castle Well" is another wonderful murder mystery in the Bruno, Chief of Police series. The only flaw I found with the book was the endless Isabelle vs Pamela back and forth, which is getting old. I'm just waiting for Bruno to realise that Florence is the right woman for him. Other than that, the book was a delight.

A wonderful mix of social interaction, French History with a detective story woven into the tale. Not fast paced but totally absorbing.

I think this is a well written book which captures a niche market of Dordogneshire lovers. There is a smattering of French history and politics thrown into the mix as well, with a seasoning of French cooking.

I am quite hooked in to the series by the St Denis fictional community.

This. novel introduces a character who has served time for drinking and driving, which seems quite ironic as the community seems to drink freely and by my count seem to imbibe freely even at lunch time.

Bruno's love life in this episode does raise a smile, but I think this is is unintentional by the author.

Bruno's accent is becoming more French as the series continues. I don't find the narrator's French pronunciation of proper nouns particularly clear and this makes it difficult for me to follow the plot, although I enjoy the performance. He does a brilliant Pamela!

I can even smell the food cooking in Bruno's kitchen . Well narrated.
