Is what should be said to Sam. She got what she wished for but not in the way she wanted. This really sounds like it might be the last in the series but I really hope it’s not. I’ve loved this series and the characters even moaning Sam. The narration by Marston has been excellent

Fingers crossed that Nick Louth will write more in this series.

This book is excellent and I really enjoyed it. Intriguing and clever plot where you get to work through the clues and information with DCI Gillard and his team.

Whilst listening to this book I was on tenterhooks because along with the current plot, there were other story arcs that were twisting and turning alongside the investigation.

If you are a fan of the series, be prepared for some ’OMG’ moments. Meanwhile Marston York continues to be an excellent narrator giving real feeling to the characters and story.

(I do still find Sam’s character ’lacking something’ especially as one of the main characters she seems unnecessarily insipid - just my opinion).

I recommend reading/listening to the series in order otherwise you will miss characters, moments and secrets that add to the thorough enjoyment of this series.

Hoping there will be more books to follow.

Excellent Book

The usual good story although the end was a bit weak after the good plots through the book.

Good but no cigar

it is a complex plot, sad, harrowing, heartbreaking and astoundingly cold blooded at times.
Very current, very human. can't wait for more

Totally relatable plot & characters

This is the end of the series which I have just binge listened and I found it a good ending - a little bit manufactured to get the plot where the author wanted it to be, but apart from that it works. This shows how important it is to read/listen in order as this book ties up or continues plots from previous books, the main one being the book with focusing on the lawyer which I really didnt enjoy so I was really pleased the characters actually were more fleshed out here.

Good ending to bingeable series
