Ramesh has built his shop up over the course of 30 years, and it is a firmly entrenched feature of the local area. He is ably assisted by Dave, a 40-something underachiever who shares Ramesh's love of the art of shopkeeping, even if he is treated like a slave. Then, of course, there are Ramesh's sons, both surly and not particularly keen on old-school shopkeeping. However, they are the natural successors to the business, and Ramesh is keen to pass all his worldly wisdom on to them - whether they like it or not....

Story
John Cooper Clarke is a phenomenon: Poet Laureate of Punk, rock star, fashion icon, TV and radio presenter, social and cultural commentator, reluctant national treasure. At 5 feet 11 inches (116lb, 32in chest, 27in waist), in trademark suit jacket, skin-tight drainpipes and dark glasses, with jet-black back-combed hair and mouth full of gold teeth, he is instantly recognisable. As a writer his voice is equally unmistakable and his inimitable dry Salford drawl shines through the prose.

Story
The complete BBC Radio 4 satirical comedy series about a seasoned presenter of travel documentaries, Brian Gulliver, who finds himself in a hospital's secure unit after claiming to have experienced a succession of bizarre adventures. In series one we hear about Brian's travels in Gelbetia, a country run by doctors; Juradia, where every other person is a lawyer; Osminia, a land where marriage is outlawed; Sham, a country where alternative therapies abound; Erosia, which has a very different view of sexual politics; and Jampoa, where fame definitely equals fortune.

hillarious and thought provoking

Summary
Born and bred in Dundee, Servant sees himself as a people's champion. His extraordinary self-belief stems largely from his dominant position in Dundee's notorious Cheeseburger Wars of the early 1980s - a period of riotous appreciation for the traditional American snack that caused madness on the streets and lined Servant's pockets. He continued his Midas touch in the 1990s by running what he often claims to have been the 'largest window cleaning round in Western Europe'. Now he's retired and, feeling purposeless and a little bored, he's taking on the internet spammers of the world. Playing the fraudsters at their own game, he soon has them in the palm of his hand. Starring Brian Cox as Bob Servant, with Felix Dexter, Laura Solon, Sanjeev Kohli and Lewis MacLeod.

You have won a million pounds!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, it is a humorous collection of email commentarys which could amuse even the deadest wit.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Bob is the main man but the performances of the other charachters are all very good.
Have you listened to any of the narrator’s other performances? How does this one compare?
no
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Cheesburger wars, THE SEQUEL!
Any additional comments?
This is a short selection of the various email escapades that Bob Servant gets involved in after winning a computer. They begin very subtly before building into frenetic exchanges that must make everyone laugh in recognition as we realise we have all received similair emails and would like to reply in a similair vein if we had the desire or Bobs Tenacity.
I regard this as a sample book with other larger books available.

A Hilarious Revenge on Spams!
We've all suffered the annoyance of spam emails offering everything from inheritance to finding love, but instead of deleting his, the author takes on the persona of Bob Servant, and takes the spammers on at their own game. The result is a hilarious compilation of these communications, set to audio by Brian Cox who comes across as suitably gullible to lead the spammers on until he's had his fun at their expense. The accents and language of the spammers is also well done, making it easier to imagine the origins of each spam!
Having heard a couple of the Bob Servant Emails on Radio 4 I was delighted to download this full Series, and I was not disappointed with it.
A hilarious download, that I can only highly recommend!

Brilliant and funny
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I hated the electronic voice between chapters…whats wring with a human voice?
I think that Audible should be clear about the Rights Management restrictions and specify the kind of file that is being supplied.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Bob Servant Emails?
Don't want to spoil it for anyone but if you ever wanted to know how to really tease someone, this is a masterpiece
What does the narrator bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Have not read the book
Do you think The Bob Servant Emails needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
It would be great to have a follow up but I do not know how this could be followed.
