About this listen

It was supposed to be the trip of a lifetime... Johnny and his new bride, Clem, have arrived in Turkey for a year's honeymoon. Young, blissfully happy but poor, they are surviving on love, luck, and a spirit of adventure. So when a boat appears, crewed by a bohemian couple, they do not think twice about stepping on board. But all is not as it seems. And when they finally open their eyes to the truth, the boat is in the middle of the vast open sea....

Would you listen to The Boat again? Why?

Beautifully written and brilliantly performed (rather than just narrated). Loved every moment of it and had tears in my eyes for the last 10 minutes. I definitely will be listening to more books by this author and Leon Williams.

Stunning book

This It’s incredibly well written descriptive I felt like I was living in the story myself but I could feel the warmth of the Sun and the anguish laughter the sound of the sea this is definitely one that will stay with me I discovered this author after listening to Too Close equally well written and a rollercoaster ride.
I can’t describe this without giving the plot away. Don’t give up on this if you are in doubt. A beautiful bittersweet narrative.
Narrator just made this a perfect listen. Can’t wait for her to write another book!

Wow! One I will remember for a very long time

All the more haunting if you find the 2014 article from The Guardian in which the author explains the story behind her book.

Beautifully Written, Beautifully Read.

Slow to start, and the narration point of view fluctuating between johnny and Clem was a little odd, but overall I was quite impressed with this book. It was gripping at points and moreish at others. Very good narration and delivery. Would recommend.

Quietly impressed
