About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

The last thing Jack Baxi expected when a detective rang his doorbell in the middle of the night was that he'd be tortured and left for dead, with a young woman he's never met before.

Now, running for their lives, Jack and Aisha frantically try to discover why the detective was so convinced they both have information on a missing person. Jack is a Sikh corner shopkeeper with a criminal record. Aisha is a Muslim medical student from a wealthy family. What could possibly connect them?

Their desperate hunt for answers will take them on a perilous journey, from the sprawling underground markets and dangerous red-light district of Delhi all the way to the most militarised zone in India.

But little do they know, a dangerous organisation is watching their every move - and they'll do whatever it takes to stop Jack and Aisha learning the truth....

I read the book before listening to it so I have enjoyed it twice. Absolutely brilliant book. I am becoming a huge AA Dhand fan. The narrator also did a decent job although wish he had pronounced some of the native Hindi/urdu/punjabi words accurately. Minor issue because I’m a native speaker but otherwise aa brilliant narrator !!

Amazing read and listen

I really loved the first 4 Harry Virdee books and thought I’d miss him in this book.

However this is probably A Dhand’s best book yet. The characters are great and the story exciting and interesting. I’ll miss not meeting Jack again. I’m just desperate to read the next one! ( but hope it might be another Harry Virdee book)

Just brilliant

Another book I couldn't 'put down' from this amazing writer. Having read all his previous ones, this time listening on audible was just as absorbing. Made me go on to read more about the background to this story.

Stunning book.

Good read, not as good as The Chemist but another good book by the author

Decent book

Least favourite of the AA Dhand books. No pace unbelievable and would not recommend. However every thing else he has written is much better

Odd story
