It’s not the kind of story that jumps out at you with gore or shock - instead, it creeps in slowly, unsettling you with its off-kilter tone and mounting sense of dread. There’s a mystery at the core of it, but what really hit me was the eerie undercurrent that something is deeply wrong and no one is doing anything about it. Everyone in the story seems to look the other way, and that felt like a sharp commentary on the world we live in now - where so many of us can see that something isn’t right, yet feel powerless to change it. Hendrix nails that atmosphere of denial and unease. It’s a short read, but it lingers. Highly recommended.
