About this listen

As the Vatican mourns the loss of Kimball Hayden, Isaiah, branded as the new Master Commander, is tasked with confronting the Black Monk, who has utilized AI technology to spread disinformation across Europe, but with an even greater focus on the Vatican to undermine the pope’s authority.

When Europe begins to erupt into chaos and violent protests, the pontiff has also been targeted by this campaign with lies and mistruths, with public opinion turning against him. As the AI movement progresses, the truth as to why the pontiff is being attacked becomes alarming. Within the Vatican are acolytes of the Black Monk, traitors who would turn against the pope so that another, under the Black Monk’s power, can usurp the papal throne.

With the papacy at risk, Isaiah must navigate his team of Vatican Knights across treacherous terrain to breach the Black Monk’s hidden stronghold deep within the Făgăraș Mountains. The stakes are high, the cost even more so. Can Isaiah lead his team against the man responsible for the murder of Kimball Hayden? Can they survive the constant and overwhelming threat of the Black Monk, a man who knows their every move?
More importantly: Does everything appear as it is?

Really can’t get to grips with the new narrator, having said that the story overall is a disappointment.

The first 30 books were brilliant, the last one was a disappointment, but I thought I’d give this one a go and the narrator another chance, but sorry this is the end of the series for me.

A disappointing book- sorry
