Summary

Beginning as a research project for a graduate class in spirituality and culture, the Black Madonna and all that she represents became a mystical guide for Georgieff on her intimate journey of the human soul. Through travels to some of the world's most famous Black Madonna shrines, interviews with scholars, scientists, clergy and artists, exploration of the historic evolution of human consciousness and deep reflections on the basic purpose of the spiritual path, Georgieff weaves an intriguing story of our cosmic origins, our difficult present and our hopeful future as a human family.

Not pleased

Chapter 18-19 went out of the way to emphasize the man-hating and racism. Anytime I read material on ".. patriarchy, caucasian privilege, racism, male oppression" etc, I put the book down. Would've been nice to know that the author was bitter and had a sour message that would RUIN THE BOOK at the END. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bothered.

Yes!

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the Black Madonna, Marian studies, the sacred feminine, our lost and suppressed histories. It is beautiful and riveting.
