About this listen

He’s commitment phobic. She believes in happy endings. The twist of fate that binds them is a surprise they never saw coming in a bittersweet romance about instant family—and not-so-instant love.

A decade-old animosity is the only thing Liam Davies and Zoe Valentine have in common. Until their mutual best friends pass away and they’re appointed co-guardians of the trusting couple’s precocious toddler, Mira.

Liam is committed only to professional football. Relationship-wise, he’s even better at defense. Still wrestling with a tough childhood, he’s not cut out to be a father. Why his late best buddy believed in him, Liam has no idea.

An optimistic romantic, Zoe has always dreamed of a fairy-tale life. But even though Liam’s biceps make her dizzy and she can’t stop thinking about his lips on hers, he’s not exactly Prince Charming. With or without that brooding Brit, she is determined to make good on her friends’ last wish.

Forced into a predicament they never expected, Zoe and Liam are discovering things about each other that could scorch through boundaries, warm hearts, and change minds. And best of all, with their shared love for a pint-size surprise like Mira, they might just turn a house into a home.

This book had me feeling so many emotions.
It was such a riveting Romance between Liam and Zoe they are enemies who are thrown together by a tragedy.
They have mutual friends a married couple who have a daughter Mira and Zoe and Liam are both god parents to the little girl.
But Zoe and Liam don't get along well,he seems to always be angry with Zoe,and so everytime they meet they would verbally spar.
Then the unthinkable happens and their friends die leaving little Mira and Orphan, but the last wishes of their dear friends was to have Zoe and Liam to raise Mira.
So these two so called enemies have to join forces living together to bring up their god daughter Mira who is almost 3 years old and adorable.
This is a slow burn romance as they have to get used to being in eachothers lives every day which is not as difficult as they thought it would be...The only problem was the attraction they felt for one another which they have to keep fighting.
But Liam has had a secret crush on Zoe for 10 years but she was in a relationship and so he had to be indifferent to her to protect himself.
But as they become friends and feelings are revealed it is getting harder to fight their feelings.
Liam is so guarded he has issues with his past and his father, which stops him from pursuing any kind of relationship with anyone. He vowed to never have a family of his own and was very reluctant to even try to take care of Mira...But once he allowed himself to love Mira he was the sweetest. Zoe and Mira start to break down Liam's walls brick by brick and they begin to melt his frozen heart.
Zoe realises that Liam is not the man she assumed him to be,he sacrifices his happiness for the people he loves...And behind the prickly demeanor he is a softie inside.
I loved Liam and Zoe they were opposites and the way they loved Mira was so beautiful, their sexual tension was electric.
The Narration to this audiobook is absolutely Fantastic Shane East and Samantha Brentmoor are perfection as Liam and Zoe.
I Love listening to Shane East he is so passionate when he narrates and you can feel the emotions in your bones as he portrays the characters.
Samantha Brentmoor is equally as spectcular and her 2 year old voice for Mira is super cute.
Both Shane and Samantha are so impressive telling this story and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to their performances.
Karla Sorensen has written a wonderful love story that is emotional, funny, sweet and steamy with characters you easily fall in love with.
The Best Of All is a fabulous story to listen too.

A lovely, captivating story, full of sexual tension and sweet interaction with little Mira as they become an instant family. It's great to read how our characters are overcoming al the negative situations in their past and the hurt others have done that shaped their outlook of themselves. An excellent performance by both narrators, I could listen to the voice of Shane East all day.

Good story. Felt it went on a bit long with Liam and Zoe getting together near the end. Felt more could have happened sooner.
