About this listen

A CHILLING NORFOLK BROADS CRIME THRILLER!

A haunted crypt, a bullied boy, and an artist’s will: a benevolent gesture or a satanic curse?

When the body of a local artist is found mutilated inside a five-pointed star, DCI Tanner’s attention turns to the disciples of a Satanic cult. But when the man's body is discovered to be the cult’s leader, Tanner's interest is soon drawn to his will, and the five beneficiaries who’ve been named in it.

Set within the mysterious beauty of the Norfolk Broads, this fast-paced British detective series is a dark cozy Norfolk murder mystery with a slice of humour and a touch of romance, one that will have you guessing until the very end, when the last shocking twist is finally revealed.

The Bastwick Testament is a totally addictive gripping crime thriller, the twelth in a chilling series of serial killer books, ones which will rapidly convert followers of L J Ross, Faith Martin, Joy Ellis, Damien Boyd, J M Dalgliesh, and Elly Griffiths into David Blake devotees.

I enjoy the stories but they are spoiled by the authors poor research and knowledge of facts, procedures, and the geography of Norfolk. The new narrator is different and I’m still deciding what I think, warming to them.

Good story but lazy research which spoils all the stories

Great story as are all the DCI Tanner books but totally spoiled by the change of Narrator. Jonathan Keeble IS DCI Tanner. Please bring him back

Bring back JK

What a great story and ending. The story had me glued to my phone at any opportunity. Like many I felt I would miss Jonathan Keeble’s narration but Peter was very good and after a few chapters I didn’t even think of it so hats off to him. If he narrates future books I shall certainly buy them.

Brilliant plot

Another brilliant story from David Blake Whilst it was Jonathan Keeble I really enjoyed Peter Wicks narration. I thought he brought Tanner’s character and the others alive. Look forward to more Tanner books with Peter narrating.

Excellent all round

Tanner misses another one! Loved the first few of these, but Tanner seems to be getting thicker - since the arrival of Christine! After Jenny died he became stupid and misogynistic. Disappointing.

Also, ‘sagacious’ is well overused, as is the expression ‘to’, for example ‘Tanner stood still, to turn around and see Vicky…’ Someone get the author a thesaurus and a proofreader!

New narrator but good
