Who knew her secret? And what happened that night?

On the hottest day of the year, Caroline Harvey is found dead in Suffolk. Her body is found draped over a cot - but the baby she was looking after is missing.

Hundreds of miles away, Siobhan Dillon is on a luxurious family holiday in France when her husband, Callum, is arrested by French police on suspicion of murder. As Siobhan’s perfect family is torn apart by the media in the nation’s frantic search for the missing baby, she desperately tries to piece together how Callum knew Caroline.

A Solid Mystery Thriller which keeps you guessing!

I have been disappointed by so many "Thrillers" of late and have not had the interest to finish them but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Not an amazingly gripping read but a good, well thought out thriller which keeps you guessing.
Strong points - nice visit to France location wise, plenty of twists and all is not as it seems.
Weaker points - too many nutters. Serious need of medication for many of the characters,
Overall, very entertaining, a little unbelievable but not gritty or gory for those like me who enjoy whodunnits which engage the brain without overly violent, disturbing or dark, upsetting themes.
Excellent narration as always by Stephanie Racine makes it an all round winner.
Given the fact that good thrillers with decent narration seem thin on the ground these days - this is a good option.

Dull and Drawn Out

About six hours into this book I just wanted it to end I would have returned it had I not already turned a book prior to this one so I stuck it out but it was tortuous. I guessed the "twist" about half way through as it was pretty obvious. I think what made this book so hard to stick with was the fact that none of the characters were likeable I had no empathy with any of them and could not care less what happened to them. Without a spoiler alert its hard to comment on the disappearance of the baby other than to say if you get that far suspend belief !

Ok

Good tale although I guessed the culprit. Bit of a naff ending. Narrator very good.

kept me awake!

I really enjoyed this book even though I guessed who the culprit was half way through. This had me hooked from the start.
I kept waking thinking about it so had to keep listening through the night.

Worth at least five stars

This thriller kept me absorbed until the very end, with fascinating characters and twist after twist. Brilliantly narrated by Stephanie Racine.

The author needs to fact check

I liked the story and it captured me but I got annoyed by the incorrect features of the police investigation. The warrant to search the suspect’s house would have been obtained within hours or minutes, not days, whereas the extradition from France would have taken months not days. The interviewer kept interrupting with “for the benefit of the tape” interviewers wouldn’t interrupt the flow of a witness account to confirm a full name or location. The suspect would have had a solicitor from the start and its highly unlikely he would get a visit from his wife whilst in custody, particularly given she is a alibi witness. I am certain the author could find a detective to proof read prior to publication

Good book, good narrator, lots of twists

Enjoyed this book, story kept moving at a good pace and the narrator had a pleasant voice to listen to and read well. Good twists, although you think you know what will happen... you don’t!
