About this listen

Two point eight million teenagers have had at least one major depressive episode in their lives. Is your child one of them?

Have you noticed that your kid is always angry or frustrated, even over small matters? Have they lost interest or stopped making an effort to communicate with you or their friends? Are they tired all the time, yet insomniac and always agitated and restless? If you've answered "yes" to any of those questions, then you may be dealing with a depressed and/or anxious teen. Between trying to establish an identity, become more independent, discover their sexuality, take more social risks, and even experiment with alcohol and drugs, this period in your teen's life comes at a high emotional and mental cost. But behind all the natural turmoil of the teenage years may hide a bigger and more treacherous problem that, if left unresolved, can lead to devastating consequences. It may seem overwhelming at first, but you need to know that it's not at all uncommon. In The Anxious Teenager, you will discover:

  • How to pinpoint the true symptoms of depression and anxiety, so you can tell the difference between normal teenage behavior and behavior caused by a mental health condition
  • The crucial changes you need to adopt in your everyday life to help make your teen's depression and anxiety less overwhelming for both you and them
  • Key strategies to become the safe space your kid needs, allowing them to trust you and open up to you more easily
  • How to become less judgmental in order to communicate with your teen gently and kindly, providing the structure and support they need during these difficult times
  • The number one mistake parents with depressed children make that can make or break your relationship with your depressed teen
  • And much more...

So if you want to understand your teen, then you need this audiobook today!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. A very easy read. Teenage years can be very fragile times for both teens and parents. This book navigated this relationship with compassion and thought provoking information. Insightful and helpful. Thank you.

Wow this is a little gem of a book. Who the hell knows what's going on in the mind of a teenager. I didn't half the time when I was a teenager and I certainly didn't listen to my own parents. Now I'm the parent of a teenager I thought I had this, I'd just relate the disaster that happened in my own life and he'd naturally want to avoid them. Sadly life isn't that simple and I've now truly learned what the old age "you can't put an old head on young shoulders" means.

In the meantime this book gave me a lot to think about. It's hard to work out if your teenager is just grumpy because they've had a late night, had a fight with their other half, is just hormonal or SOMETHING IS WRONG! And to try and get them to talk about it. Well, let's just say this book is a godsent if you like me just want to know what's going on, I'd buy this book.

Timely and indispensible!

It is definitely a book every parent or legal guardian with a teenager suffering emotionally and who feel depressed about themselves should listen to as well as give to them, because not only does it nicely explain many of the common ways our kids can learn on how they can better themselves, but it also teaches them the importance of loving who they are and be themselves. As soon as my niece started talking to me about her days and her problem, I knew the audiobook worked for her. My hope is that she will continue to improve.

I Highly recommend this book

I have teens that gone through anxiety and depression. Even though it is just the beginning stage and I'm glad I caught it. However, this book will guide parents on how to handle teens that have gone through this stage. It gives good advice, especially on communication and active listening. I think that's really important. Recommended for parents!
