Summary

From the best-selling author of The Geraldine Steel series comes The Adulterer's Wife. A suspenseful and gripping psychological thriller, perfect for fans of domestic noir.

Julie is devastated to learn that her husband, Paul, is having an affair. It seems her life can’t get any worse - until she comes home to find his dead body in their bed.

When the police establish he was murdered, Julie is the obvious suspect. To protect her son from the terrible situation, Julie sends the teenage boy to his grandparents in Edinburgh while she fights to prove her innocence.

With all the evidence pointing to her, the only way she can escape conviction is by discovering the true identity of her husband’s killer. But who really did murder Paul?

The truth is never straightforward....

Annoying

struggled to finish this one and if it wasn't for the fact that I don't like wasting my credit I wouldn't have persevered. first off, the narration was flat and boring, no intonation or inflection. The main character was really annoying to the point where I was shouting at my device. The only good thing about this book was that it eventually ended.

Good story

I enjoyed the story but the narrator is awful. She was way too formal. Don’t listen to the audio version!

What a Loada Rubbish!!!!!!!

I think there's half decent story line is there but I feel the author go bored and did what kids do at school when writing a story - Rush the end so they can go out to play at break time. The narrator was dreadful that's a given - if was just soooooo painful and cringey to listen to. I really don't like returning books I listened to the end but this needs to be considered a first. Leigh Russell, stick to using Lucy Price-Lewis to narrate your books she really is exceptional.

Predictable with a very dull narrator

I hate to give up on a book when I’ve paid for it but this was hard work. The story was ok but the narrator was just dreadful and simply unable to bring the characters to life. Felt more like she was reading a bed time story.

Good story shame about the deliverance

The actually story is OK but the performance is very wooden.
No empathy in the performance same tone throughout which I struggled with. It is a shame as the story is OK.

The adulterers wife

Interesting story ruined by the narrator who sounded bored the whole way through I really struggled- usually the narration enhances the listening experience- I think I would have preferred to read this book not listen to it

Not worth a credit

Very dull story, slow and badly read. It was an extremely painful listen and very predictable.
