Promised much but petered out towards the end. I really should read the notes more carefully as I wasn’t expecting Mills & Boon . I am sure my wife will like it. So much more could have been made of the rescue and of course it would have been nice to see the villain get his comeuppance. Still we live and learn.

The story is one of love conquers all despite the trauma of war, the betrayal by a father and the sadistic treatments administered by a bogus doctor. Our hero's brain seems rarely to operate above the waist. The narrator does a good job with a few irritating long 'o' sounds instead of short.

Amazing treatment of a war hero son and the love of a good woman that saved him. Great story different to the norm and good narration!

It felt like the author just wanted to pile one mishap after another. So much pain and hurt inflicted on the leads. Did not sign up for that and I wish this had a TW of torture so I could have avoided everything inflicted on the MMC.

Never ending story which could have been much shorter.
