I have being learning AI and how to use it. I picked oup this book and realized how much I am missing. How much more I could do with AI. I used a couple of other books. They gave genaric ways to do prompts. Never quite what I wanted it to do. There is so much you can do with AI if you use better language. Better descriptions. There is so much more out there in prompts than most books explain
This one does in such good details. I got the picture i really wanted following this book. A more detailed and vivid world setting for a book I am writing. Just so much more.
This is a great book to use for AI. It gives detail. How, what and why. It is a book I grabbed when I could. Now i have promts i can actually use.

The AI Prompt Engineering Principles By: Pierce Caldwell, was very heard and easy to understand. Now the first thing I will say. This book is made for beginners in my opinion. I don’t think this book would do any good for somebody passed that stage. They would find it mediocre at best. But if you are just starting out this has everything you need to get you started plus some. This is a great book to keep and to keep referencing back to from time to time. I feel like you will get tips from it after you think you are done with it. So don’t pass it along till you are sure you are really done with it. (Wink) (wink)

This is a genuinely useful beginner’s guide to prompt engineering, and it earns its “timeless” framing by focusing on the why behind prompts instead of handing over a list to copy-paste. The core of the book is the C-P-R framework — Context, Persona, Request — and Caldwell builds out from there into troubleshooting, fixing hallucinations, and adapting your approach for newer models like GPT-5. It’s clearly organized and genuinely practical, walking through real failure points rather than vague platitudes like “just be specific.”

Christian Neale’s narration is a real asset here. He’s got a warm, unhurried UK delivery that suits instructional content well — clear enunciation, natural pacing, no rushing through the technical bits. It made the core chapters easy to follow while doing other things, which is exactly what you want from a how-to audiobook.

Where the format strains a bit is the back half. Appendix C alone is a library of 600+ ready-to-use prompts split across 66 categories, everything from marketing to parenting to legal basics. It’s a fantastic reference to own as a text or ebook, where you can jump straight to the category you need, but listening to prompt after prompt in sequence loses a lot of its usefulness compared to skimming it visually.
