About this listen

The next thrilling instalment in the Women's Murder Club series.

After a dramatic shoot out at a ferry dock, Detective Lindsay Boxer is called to the scene to find that three people have been killed, and one of her closest friends, Claire, has been shot and lies bleeding, whilst the murderer is on the run. Lindsay promises Claire that she'll hunt down this killer and bring him to justice, but sadly, it doesn't prove to be so straightforward.

A man comes forward claiming to be the ferry murderer, and Yuki Castellano, one of the Women's Murder Club, prepares to set out the charges against him. But it's not all over; a child has been abducted and is still missing. To increase the mystery and confusion, there are a series of suspicious and unexplained deaths in the building where Cindy lives - yet another of the Women's Murder Club is in danger. Lindsay discovers yet more abducted children, and the hunt begins in earnest to return the children to their parents.

As is always the case, James Patterson writes a great story, but the change of audio Performer has not worked as well as the first 5 books.

I am not keen on the 1980’s style music which has obviously been overlaid after the recording. It’s added at every chapter, and other music plays at various intervals. It is unnecessary and quite frankly, annoying. I hope it doesn’t continue into book 7.

What’s with the music?

I have enjoyed the first 5 books and was excited to get the 6th. What a disappointment- different Narrator who speaks in a monotone, and bizarre music that appears at beginning and end of chapters. Think they may have tried to liven it up.
Forced myself to listen and story line is good- but style and tone is very distracting- disappointing after so many good versions. Hope next one is better! Almost want a refund!

Shame about Narration

Disliked that this book had a new narrator to the last 5 books. Also disliked the new cheesy music in between the chapters

I have so far loved all books in this series, but the new narrator and all the dramatic music to introduce each new chapter (of which there are soooo many!) were quite annoying. Didn’t know I was such a Pat Star fan until now! Hopefully I’ll be able to continue with the rest of the series as stories are great.

Bring back Pat Star!

The pace of narration really has put me off. She is great at character voices, but general narration is slow, deliberate & she sounds miserable... sorry!! I wish Pat had continued with the series. possibly will return to the women's murder club at another point. Womens (she pronounces this wowmans instead of wimans as it should be, also kind of annoyjng)!

I may return, but this narrator has put me off!
