Story
Think of The War of Art as tough love...for yourself. Since 2002, The War of Art has inspired people around the world to defeat "resistance"; to recognize and knock down dream-blocking barriers and to silence the naysayers within us. Resistance kicks everyone's butt, and the desire to defeat it is equally as universal. The War of Art identifies the enemy that every one of us must face, outlines a battle plan to conquer this internal foe, then pinpoints just how to achieve the greatest success.

Story
The story of how I, Julian Carter, and my precious two-year old son, Stephen, left Atlanta Georgia and found ourselves on a white sailboat, tossed about like a cork on a raging sea off of Australia's northern tip in 1963, is harrowing. But it pales in comparison to what happened deep in the jungle where I was taken as a slave by a savage tribe unknown to the world. Some places dwell in darkness so deep that even God seems to stay away.

A story of revenge with a shocking premise and numerous reversals, Skin tackles the issue of what true beauty is - and what's merely skin deep.
Summary
Some say the great mystery of how one can live in two worlds at once died with Thomas Hunter many years ago. Still others that the gateway to that greater reality was and is only the stuff of dreams. They are wrong.
In the small town of Eden, Utah, a blind girl named Rachelle Matthews is about to find out just how wrong. When a procedure meant to restore Rachelle's sight goes awry, she begins to dream of another world so real that she wonders if Earth might be only a dream experienced when she falls asleep in that reality. Who is a simple blind girl to have such strange and fantastic dreams?
She's the prophesied one who must find and recover five ancient seals - in both worlds - before powerful enemies destroy her. If Rachelle succeeds in her quest, peace will reign. If she fails, both worlds will forever be locked in darkness. So begins a two-volume saga of high stakes and a mind-bending quest to find an ancient path that will save humanity. The clock is ticking; the end rushes forward. Ready? Set? Dream.

Amazing Story
This book is very well read and performed. In this book Ted Dekker dives back into the world of the Circle Series and takes you on a wild ride. This story is amazing and having it be an extension of his previous series is exciting and won't let you down. I can't recommend this story enough. 5 Stars.

Ted Dekker never disappoints and this is not an exception. The 49th Mystic returns us to the world created in The Circle and within it's pages peals back incredibly deep truths that only can be truly taught through parable. Beautiful.

It is okay
First, they should have made the narrator listen to the first 3 books. She kept mispronounce names. So, that was irksome. Second, the story had too much “tell” and not enough “show”. You show your audience what you mean by the actions and words of the characters. When the story was progressing the book was good. When he stopped telling us the story and told us what we should think, was boring. I thought this was going to be a stand-alone book, but there will be at least 1 more. I like the author’s work a lot, but this was just to heavy handed on “you should think this as a reader”

Captivating
Such an intriguing story. We listened while driving across the country. We sat in the hotel parking lot too captivated by the story to even stop listening. Also gave us many hours of deep conversation while listening about the underlining truths. Loved the last chapter that helped tie things together spiritually!

Excellent book AND Excellent narration!
So impressed by the narration of this book. The reader did a fantastic job conveying the emotion of the story through tones, as well as ensuring the listener could track who was speaking through small nuances in pronunciation. Ted Dekker remains one of my favorite authors, and this story will keep you listening for hours!

I'm a huge Dekker fan and find myself constantly looking for the missing pieces which always turn up another one of his works. While I find this frustrating at times, I have to admit its genius on his part because here I am purchasing another book....If you read Ted Dekker, you have to read all of Ted Dekker.

Mind (and heart) altering!
Our world, other world. Love and fear. Sight with no vision. Old life, new life. Jumping from a simple life to the transformed, yet still unlearned mystic life. Power from beyond that we have, but are unaware of. The message of this book will 'transform you by the renewing of your mind.'
