Summary

The guide to shortening your execution cycle down from one year to 12 weeks

Most organizations and individuals work in the context of annual goals and plans; a 12-month execution cycle. Instead, The 12 Week Year avoids the pitfalls and low productivity of annualized thinking. This book redefines your "year" to be 12 weeks long. In 12 weeks, there just isn't enough time to get complacent, and urgency increases and intensifies. The 12 Week Year creates focus and clarity on what matters most and a sense of urgency to do it now. In the end more of the important stuff gets done and the impact on results is profound.

  • Explains how to leverage the power of a 12-week year to drive improved results in any area of your life
  • Offers a how-to book for both individuals and organizations seeking to improve their execution effectiveness
  • Authors are leading experts on execution and implementation

Turn your organization's idea of a year on its head, and speed your journey to success.

Thought-provoking stuff

I will definitely put the principles and techniques I learned in this book into practice, and am looking forward to doing so.

The book isn't too long but covers the ground well. Nothing about the narrator annoyed me, which is, I think, more important than needing to like him or her.

I recommend this book if you are interested in avoiding ruts and getting the most out of your work, life and potential.

straight to the point

I wish I'd found this book 10 years ago! It is a simple and effective method to put into place. I can see how applying it will massively benefit my life and business. I've read so many inspirational books but this one is practical as well. Highly recommended

Try it out

Excellent book, however only if you implement it, in your work and life. Go for it.

Book was good, listening was a challenge

Great book, the reader is easily drowned out by outside noises so I struggled to follow along compared to other audio books

Whispering narration

I do not like reading books, but I was about to read this one just to avoid the whispering of the narrator. It was maddening. The more I increased the volume, the more the words sounded like whispers. How did this gentlemen get the job?

This is my 13th audiobook this year. This is the only narrator who drove me insane.

Takes a couple listens/readings

Seems repetitive and condescending but the reader acknowledges how some might feel like that when being pushed out of thier comfort zone known as procrastination. Still, I didn't get much useful information on first listen.

An Amazing Book!

This book is much better than I expected. It is exactly what I needed to hear. The author is amazing in how he tackles every thought that comes to mind when wanting to succeed and actually executing what needs to be done to succeed. If you have a business, small or large, or just want to get on track in your life, READ THIS BOOK!

Wish it had a different narrator

I had to stop listening to this book due to the narrator. It is unfortunate as I was very eager to hear it. I believe the foundation is sound but I’ll have to find another venue to appreciate all it has to offer.

2/3 of the book seems to be a waste of time

I am 2 hours in this 3-hour audiobook and I am just being told now we will deep dive into what the system actually is. the first two hours talked about how Superior the system is and why traditional methods don't work. I'm sure you can find a summary book for a lecture and get the same info.

This meeting could have been an email - a vibe.

The content in this book is fabulous. And the concept of “the 12 week year” is life changing! I LOVE IT.

That being said - I could have gotten all of the important information in the form of a flyer. I don’t think I benefitted much more from listening to the full book than I would have if I’d read a summary.

Not the biggest fan of the book - HUGE fan of the concept.

Amazing Content, Awful Narrator

Perfect and fast synopsis of the best strategies that are condensed in 1 book instead of the 10 books you'd previously need to read to get then all.

This narrator is a horrific choice. Makes it hard to listen to the content and stay interested or awake.

Interesting Concept but Drawn Out

I feel the book was a lot longer than it needed to be. It’s a great concept but it became repetitive.
