I've read and re-read all Jane Green's books, but this one, my first Jane Green listen, I hated and could not get further than the first couple of hours in.

I'm not put off by other books in this genre, but will not listen to anything Jane Green reads again.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Jane Greens narration was slow, laborious and boring. I could not listen, it was terrible. Sorry Jane, but stick to writing and pay a pro to do the narrating.

I'm a huge jane green fan, but I have to admit this wasn't one of my favourites, sorry! The story was ok, but the audio for me, ruined it. It's lovely to have the author read their own books but on this occasion it didn't work!

Not your finest Jane Green!

I have read and enjoyed other books bys Jane Green, but I couldn’t believe this was the same author! The main character is unbelievably self righteous and sees herself as the victim of what she does, not her poor family. It’s all about her. And as for the narration, I’m sorry Jane but it was all wrong - the accents were weak and inconsistent, the emphasis was so wrong at times and you even changed the pronunciation of one of the main characters part way through! (Alannah) I finished the book because it’s two weeks till my next credit comes through, that’s the only reason.
