Summary

Adam and I are both going through identity crises of epic proportions as we transition from who we were and discover who we were meant to be. More Fae are dying, and I feel as if time is running out for us to find all of those responsible and put an end to the killings.

The people I thought I could trust have betrayed me, and the one person I should absolutely not trust is taking me deeper and deeper into his world.

Ryder’s secrets are dangerous and devastating.

With each touch and word, he pulls my heart closer to himself, and at the same time, he is trying to keep me at arm’s length. The dance he and I have begun is getting more complicated as our worlds are being shaken from all sides, and the visions of the future are frightening and nothing like I had ever pictured for myself or those I care for.

This time, destiny is taunting me.

I had always thought that I controlled my destiny. Now, my rights are being taken from me by powerful people and leaving me with alternatives that range between bad and awful. This time, the choices I have to make can decide the fate of both worlds.

Everything is unraveling, and nothing will ever be the same again.

Constantly surprising storyline

Story: Continue the story with Ryder and Syn. If you liked the first book, you'll like this second book. The story in this book tosses the readers through many twists and turns as everything gets turned around multiple times and it is near impossible to guess where the story is heading. Ends on a cliff hanger, so be sure that you have credits to get the next book too! ;-)

Narrators: Sarah Puckett continues her expert and professionally done voice for the female parts. I just wish she would do the entire book. Craig A. Hart replaced the previous male narrator used for Ryder in book 1. Thankfully he didn't have a lot of sections since they were not recorded with the same quality and professionalism. This brought the performance down.

First one is better

I bought this because I liked the first one. This one makes the main women sound so pathetic. She says she won't do xyz and then does xyz. I felt it was very rambly and talked in circles almost to fill pages. I listen on 2x speed so it's already over 4 hours shorter to listen to and I'm finding it very boring where most books don't have that issue. I will not be getting the third one or any that follow as this book has put me off the storyline and the plot in general - I no longer want to find out the outcome because I don't care
