Die 40-teilige DDR-Serie Tatbestand basierte wie das beliebte und populäre Fernsehpendant "Der Staatsanwalt hat das Wort" auf Gerichtsakten und schilderte interessante Fälle, die abschließend von einem Staatsanwalt kommentiert und erläutert wurden. Die Reihe erfreute sich großen Zuspruchs seitens des Radiopublikums und wurde immer gegen 20 Uhr ausgestrahlt. Einige Folgen wurden auch preisgekrönt.
