Summary

My plan was simple.

Get invited onto his yacht.

Find information to destroy him.

But I wasn't prepared for Alaric Prince.

Dangerous and seductive, he trapped me in his gilded cage.

He calls me Dove.

Easily preyed on.

Easily broken.

A man that ruthless only wants to crush me.

I must resist the temptation to let him.

He's my father's enemy.

At war with my family.

A danger to me.

Falling for him would be my demise.

But if my plan works, it will be his.

Riveting!!

Bring it on! That is exactly what Ava Harrison does with her new release Tarnished Empire. I love her writing style and I knew I was in for a good listen, but I couldn't stop! It's that good! Alaric is out for blood and will do anything to seek retribution for his brother's death. Phoenix on the other hand is going to infiltrate Alaric's world to find what he has done to destroy her father. Getting caught was not an option. But Alaric is astute, and when he does catch her, the chemistry is palpable. What happens next is not only surprising but the unexpected twists and turns will keep those earbuds in, just to see what is going to happen next! Danger, ruthlessness, passion, forgiveness and love, you can't get better than that! It's turbulence and love to keep you riveted til the end!

Sebastian York and Ava Erickson bring this story to life like a movie in your mind. These seasoned narrators know exactly how to bring us this story and keep us spellbound. A great team for an enjoyable listen.

Excellent

I listened to this story practically in one go, including through the night. Well written, fast paced and keeps you guessing. Narration was brilliant and added to the story. This would make a great film, if the right actors. we're cast in the lead roles.

EPIC!

I’ve been looking forward to the release of Tarnished Empire, and Ava Harrison certainly didn’t disappoint! I couldn't get enough of both the book, and audiobook!

Phoenix is a woman on a mission. She’s headstrong and very determined. Alaric Prince has something that doesn't belong to him, and she'll do anything to get it back.

Alaric is a force to be reckoned with – the man is brutal. Phoenix tries to pull the wool over his eyes, but he’s always one step ahead. One step ahead until something happens that changes both of their lives forever.

The narrators for this were absolutely brilliant! Sebastian York sounded as moody and ruthless as I imagined Alaric to be, and Ava Erickson was just perfect as Phoenix!

Tarnished Empire is outstanding! My heart was in my mouth in certain parts - (one being when Phoenix does something that just completely shocks me, and I was like WHAT??!!) – a very well deserved 5 stars!

Beautiful romantic story

I loved this story couldn’t stop listening my only criticism was that too much time was spent relaying what happened on the island. A beautiful ending to interesting story.

interesting book

An interesting plot uncovering the fact that even the most powerful and influential of people have their difficulties.
The book touches the topic of acceptance even in the highest of circles, regardless of one's roots and upbringing.

It reminded me of the blue lagoon....it has really hot parts and I really enjoyed the back and forth between the two protagonists and of course some what unexpected twist. In all I really enjoy this book. It had a good pace so even if it was a 10h books it flowed really well without being in a hurry. looking forward to listen more books from Ava Harrison. the narration like always was superb from 2 of my favorite narrators. I do recommend this book.

It almost lost me and then I was ALL IN

I enjoy Ava Harrison’s writing a lot. She just has this way with words that just works for me. Then there are times when I need the audio and I’m all about it. This was one of those times.

Let me get a few things out of the way.
- This has an age gap and it was honestly not needed at all to me. Neither character felt a certain age, if that makes sense.
- There was a bit of violence. Kind of mafia style. It didn’t bother me, but for some reason I didn’t expect it.
- Romancelandia’s misuse of birth control strikes again. This is just a personal thing. I hate it, but it didn’t affect the story like I thought it would.
- You might hate hearing about doves after this.

Now I went into this a little blind, so when I got into the book, I really enjoyed the banter of the island. This is where I thought Phoenix, rose. Close proximity is my weakness. Who knew?! I loved it. I think the growth of Alaric and Phoenix was great.

There was a point though that I almost gave up. Then suddenly the book took something I disliked and the suspense turned way up. It was amazing. My book friends’ heads might have turned 360° with my texts reading this book.

I did a read and listen. Sebastian York’s narration was good, but I really thought Ava Erickson did a stellar job as Phoenix. She really became the character in my head. Adored it!

Speechless

Ava has once again left me speechless with this incredibly captivating read. You know it’s going be a good book when you don’t care that you have work tomorrow and you’re going on only four hours of sleep because you need to know the ending. You were going to fall in love with Alaric Prince. This is a five star, roller coaster, enemy-to-lovers book. Loved the narration by Sebastian York & Ava Erickson. They really helped bring the book to life.

Just okay

Honestly i though it was going to be so much better, the heroin ended up been weak and it got boring very quickly, had a hard time getting back into the plot. It had the potential to be a pretty good book but it just ended up being meh

Loved this listen

Talk about the most perfect voices to bring these characters to life. Ava had the perfect soft soothing voice for the character who has been sheltered from the business of her father. Sebastian brings the perfect brooding alpha with the dark broken side The story line itself was phenomenal and I was listening to this read with any time I could. I loved the premise of the daughter trying to help Her father and then oops swooning for the “bad guy”. This story had a great premise being stranded, growing towards each other and with each other, and then a little twist and turn to keep you on your toes. I loved this listen and now want to sit down and read the book and escape again.

Loved this audiobook!

Tarnished Empire
Alaric & Phoenix
No one does alpha antiheroes like Ava so I was excited to find out this was a mafia story which I also love.
I loved Phoenix, she is strong and strong willed (stubborn) yet we also see her vulnerable side.
Alaric is strong and protective and a total Alpha male, as he should be due to his background. *swoon*
Both characters were good at hiding things about themselves that once revealed just made everything fall into place.
I loved the narrators that were chosen, they are some of my favorites!

Phoenix/Dove and Alaric

OMG - Sebastian York and Ava Erickson were great choices for narrators. Sebastian was a perfect Alaric and Ava was a perfect young-sounding Phoenix. This was a bit of an age gap. Phoenix tries to get information from him to save her father, who Alaric thinks killed his brother. She ends up on his yacht and is in over her head. The yacht is boarded by pirates and they escape to an island. They get really close in a cave on the island when there is a terrible storm and they end up slowly falling in love. But things are not so simple for them. There is a very sad scene near the end and a surprise villain. This book was so good! It was well worth the listen.

Adventure, Danger, and Twist and Turns!

Wow! I loved it! Phoenix and Alaric's story is suspenseful, captivating, and fast-paced. Phoenix is a wonderful and strong young woman. Alaric is amazingly dark, and ruthless. I loved their slow burn story. Their journey is filled with adventure, danger, and unpredictable twists and turns. I love the ending. Sebastian York and Stella Hunter did an amazing job with the narration. They are perfect as Alaric and Phoenix. I HIGHLY recommend it!
