Summary

Former Army Ranger Finn McGregor retreats to the woods looking to decompress. Instead he's plunged back into a high-stakes fight when he crosses paths with a beautiful neighbor being targeted by a mysterious foe with deadly intent.

After a disastrous Middle East mission ends his six-year Army Ranger career, Finn McGregor needs some downtime. A peaceful month in the woods sounds like the perfect way to decompress. But peace isn't on the agenda once he crosses paths with publishing executive Dana Lewis, a neighbor who is nursing wounds of her own. Someone seems bent on disrupting her stay in the lakeside cabin she inherited from her grandfather. As Finn and Dana work together to discover who is behind the disquieting pranks, the incidents begin to take on a menacing tone. And when it becomes apparent Dana's foe may have deadly intent, Finn finds himself back in the thick of the action - ready or not.

Best-selling author Irene Hannon draws listeners into a web of psychological suspense where danger lurks in dark corners - and keeps them captive until the very end.

EXCELLENT STORY!

I don't know if this was just a great story or if Therese Plummer pushed it over the top. I truly enjoyed this from start to finish. I've listened to several other books by Irene Hannon with other narrators and wasn't as engaged as I was with this one. I didn't stop listening and when I had to pause, I couldn't wait to get back.

SOOOOO worth the credit!

Tangled Webs

An appropriate title for this book. The story of Finn and Dana was superb. It was nice to catch glimpses of all the McGregor brothers and their wives. Ms. Hannon does such an excellent job with her characters, the reader gets to know them well. The suspense is always riveting. I preferred the romance in this book better than the previous two. I believe Ms. Hannon achieved what she was aiming for in romance in this book. All of Ms. Hannon's books are fantastic and I look forward to all of them. Ms. Plummer always gives an outstanding performance.

Highly Recommend

I really enjoyed listening to Irene Hannon's "Tangled Webs" ... it was hard to turn the book off. The story of the third McGregor brother didn't disappoint! I appreciated the Men of Valor series and felt there was enough of a different plot line for each story to keep my attention. I thought Therese Plummer did a great job of presenting the book to the listeners.

Wonderful Story,

I really love Irene Hannon, her books are wonderful. You can listen to the book with ease. It is very clean and well written.
I all love Therese Plummer. She is the best. You can tell the difference between each character. Don't know how she does it. But she does it well.

Great Book to listen too

I love the book, great thriller, I liked the way all charactors pulled together, plus the romance was sweet and pleasent. The reader was awesome too, I love the way Therese Plummer does each charactor, you can actually tell them apart. can't wait for next book.

A repeat of book 1 and 2

I felt like this was the same story as the first two books in the series. It was overall a good book but extremely predictable and exactly like the first two in how the story played out.

Weak plot

I usually enjoy all her books - but this one had very little suspense to it. Very predictable

Good Plot but very sappy.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would but would warn them of the incredible sappiness mentioned in the female's abundant "admiration" for the mail character. Very distracting but I'm a guy. Probably written for women. After all, written by a woman so we hear much more about her attraction to the male character and we hear of his admiration for her.

What did you like best about this story?

When the sappiness subsided and the plot grew thicker.

Which character – as performed by Therese Plummer – was your favorite?

Finn McGregor

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Nope.

Any additional comments?

Way to heavy on the juvenile romance. Not enough actually storyline.
