Occasionally, our lives tangle together when we least expect it.
Sometimes it's down to fate... other times, it's a horrendous dating site and a torturous blind date.
Isla MacLeod belongs to the vast Hebridean sea; she's a fisherwoman caught in a net of isolation against the rugged backdrop of Skye.
Working alongside her grandfather, Isla hasn't made time for anyone to quietly slip into her safespace.
Granda's pushing the throttle forward–– and not just on the trawler; he's desperate for Isla to find the one.
Open water’s always felt like home, but the tides are changing; stormy skies are looming.
As waves crash on the coastline, she craves more.
After Morag (the overzealous best friend) sets Isla up on Highland Hearts dating site, there's more chance of finding a cat running a brothel than a decent match... Well, until an uptight, hairy coo enters her inbox.
Meet the coo...
Paisley Campbell's solicitor life in Edinburgh no longer fills her with happiness. She might look good on paper, but it's her internal state that's crumbling.
Bound by rules and deadlines by day, Paisley's become nothing more than a reclusive, wine-drinking, book fiend by night.
Stuck in her ways with a snotty mother breathing down her neck, Paisley's sick of the constant criticism.
Fuelled by sarcasm, anxiety and a disastrous blind date, Paisley decides enough is enough–– It’s time to take charge.
Believing she's in full control of her downward spiral, she sends a message... and a prayer to the dating God's.
Isla and Paisley might be miles apart, but they're floating closer.
The tide's shifting between them, but is it too strong to ignore?
With ample humour, typical Scottish cheek and Scots language — Tangled Lines will keep you hooked.

I love both Paisley and Isla, and adored their friends James and Morag immensely. They had me in stitches and both quickly became a favorite. Lisa managed to make them both outlandish and outspoken in drastically different ways. I especially loved that Morag was the one to put Isla in her place when Isla learnt Paisley was from a wealthy family, it was the only time I wanted to bash Isla round the head but Morag did it for me 😁
I was not expecting the roller coaster of emotions from this book. I was expecting a slow burn sapphic romance between 2 women from completely different worlds... which it did... but also gave me a side of heartbreak! Thanks for the emotional damage Lisa!
Marina did a fantastic job in her narration, not only with rhe Scottish but also with the differences in dialects with both women being from different parts of Scotland Marina was able to portray both the main characters as the side characters with different ranges of regional dialects. It was a feast for the ears.
I loved this story and cannot wait for book 2!
So beautiful
