Summary

The gripping new USA Today best-selling thriller from Lisa Stone.

Have you seen Leila?

Eight-year-old Leila Smith has seen and heard things that no child should ever have to. On the Hawthorn Estate, where she lives, she often stays out in the playground long after the other children have left, just so she can avoid her own home for longer.

But what Leila doesn't know is that someone has been watching her. One day, she disappears without a trace.

The police search start a nationwide search, but it's as if Leila has vanished into thin air. Who kidnapped her? What do they want? Will she return home safe and sound, or is she lost forever?

A thriller with a difference!

Implausible

I found this narrative to be implausible to the point of irritation. A formulaic, predictable story line with such unrealistic responses; the police detectives were virtual morons with little regard pages to realistic police procedure and the main character (the mother) was portrayed as pathetic. Predictable and lacking in substance.

What went wrong?!

I can't believe this is a Lisa Stone book - boring, weak and nothing like her previous books! A real struggle to get through, even though I skipped a few chapters. Dont waste your time with this book.

8 year old girl goes missing

I struggled to begin with but as I started reading more it told the story of a mother and sister relationship as well as her missing daughter. very realistic and believable. if this is the first novel you have read of Lisa's you should read the other three too. Brilliant writer and story teller.

This book is a must read!!!

This book kept me captivated from start to finish! I was actually disappointed when it was over because I was so into it I never wanted it to end. The narrator’s was easy to listen to, the story line kept me guessing, and the characters were so likable. I highly recommend this, and all Lisa Stone books!!!!

Good story but not accomplished well

This could have been much better. I liked the story. The performance was really good too. But I hate characters that are stupid. The police are so far from anything that seems logical and they rely on their personal feelings instead of the actual evidence and I got more mad at the them than the actual antagonist. There could have Ben more actual content and let go of some of the unnecessary commentary that just plays it out so much longer. If you patient this is a great book. If you can see the holes like me you’ll be annoyed. Maybe a better read the book story so you can skip the parts you don’t need to read. Love the story but maybe more what the story could be. Stupid characters annoy me and there’s at least one or two. Happy listening!
